Ok this is the situation - I would really like to know if I made the right play here or if I should of waited for a better chance.

Cyrpto online tourney 43 players left (paying out to 60 so I was in the money anyway)
My stack is 10.5 K the average stack is around the 20-25K mark and the chip leader has about 35K.

The Blinds at 600/1200 (ante of 150) and i pick up  in the BB

UTG go's all in for 2.5K and its folded to the small blind who calls - so i think a little and I also call as I felt the pot odds were good.

Flop is  Two Diamonds As - and the SB makes a bet of 1200 - the pots at 7.5K and I had 7.8K left. I had a think and put the SB on a pair of aces too but was worried he might have a stronger kicker than 9. I figured I had any diamond  for the nut flush or a 9 for a nasty two pair as my outs. my oponent had 20K left in chips and I decided that it was a good hand to all in on as I was unlikley to get a better chance with only 7X the BB left if i folded.

Well he did have  and the next two cards were  three clubs so I lost the hand and went out of the game. admitidly it was a gamble but was it the right gamble??

Yeah i think this play is fine. You have a nut draw and top pair the pot is big enough for you to push all in and get the correct odds. You might even get the aj to fold here, i mean what does he have you on to make this play.

You are shortstacked and this is a great flop for your hand. It's an automatic all in for me. You may well be ahead already, and even if you are behind you have a big draw to hit.

I don't think the SB played this very well, giving you great odds to call pre-flop and I have no idea what his tiny bet on the flop was trying to achieve.

nothing much to add, both pre and especially post flop plays itself.

Hit, and you are back in business for a decent payday

Hard luck

I probably would have gone all in pre flop. You're short stacked there's lots of money in the pot. UTG could have anything, I try to get SB to fold but if not you ain't got a bad hand with which to see 5 cards. I push and hope to see lots of diamonds.

I think I would have played it exactly the same as you; i certainly would not be passing on that flop.
