We have a new chip leader in the tournament in the form of Colm Reville. Having usurped Flipper's chip lead in a big coup, Nicky Power claims that Flipper's demise is every bit as dramatic as an Andy Black style blow up. Having gone from 90,000 to 10,000 in the space of 3 levels it would be hard to question the Power's judgement.

On a board of

Colm Reville pushed all-in on the turn sparking a long dwell up from sir flipness. Then, suddenly, Flipper flung his chips into the pot like a man on a mission. In reality though it was a kamakaze mission for Walsh who was dominated.

Reville

Plenty of outs to the river for Flipper but unfortunatly for him the   was no use.

Needless to say Colm is now the one revilling with his 71,000 strong chip lead stack

Thomas 'The Bomber' Nolan is like a bowling ball going for it's hattrick of strikes, first doubling up to 5k, before his K-9 spiked a nine against A-Q to take him up to a nose-bleed inducing 11k. The bar manager was rooting for The Bomber for some reason.

-----------

We're a Dave down, and to the relief of Masters, it's McArthy rather than him. All-in with Aces versus A-K, you'd think Masters would be pretty confident, but I hear he slowplayed the Bullets at the Irish Masters last year and was made to pay. Although Neill Kelly teased the room by announcing a T-J-Q Flop, the real Flop did provide four extra outs, the dealer throwing out T-5-J onto the felt to give McArthy a lifeline. However, it wasn't to be, and a Six and a King later and McArthy was a gonna. "And Masters takes it," exclaims Neill. "he decided not to slowplay them this time."

------------

Matt Dobbins has just felted Wes Farrell, Wes making a cheeky move on an A-A-T-T-K board but being called quicker than a jet propelled whippet by Dobbins' A-9. "He was bluffing big time," commented a neighbour to me.

A hand or two later, and Wes, part of the winning team from last year, was gone.

A big hand kicked off on the nearest table, Brian Stott re-raising Mick Stephen's pre-flop raise all-in. Mick called and showed , but Brian had him in the stocks with . Rotten fruit at the ready, Brian prepared to hurl his tomato, but was stopped in his tracks as Mick slipped out off his stocks and hit a set on the Flop. Most shockingly, Margaret O'Mahony, who was understandably animated at the time, confessed to folding Pocket Jacks (ouch!). Anyhow, you have to be in it to win it (as a tantastic Dale Winton so often claims), and a and Two Clubs later and it was a timely double up for Mick.

The final whistle has now sounded, but before Neill Kelly inflated his lungs, we had a couple of all-ins, one of which came in the form of a double up for Robert Brennon, all-in with against John Weafer's and quietly willing a raggy board.

It's strange in poker how the players' body language can sometimes display confidence, or lack of, before any cards are dealt, as if they can somehow already sense the result. On this occasion, it was Weafer who seemed to be feeling the negative vibes, even though he had no reason to be doing so. With his face scrunched up and his body perched on the edge of the table, the dealer lay a onto the felt, thereby giving Brennen a much needed double up. As a result, Weafer finishes the day with little over 5k.

-------------

On the penultimate hand of the night, we also lost Eddie Gorman, his searching for a three against a dominating . A Flop didn't change much accept give him a potential split pot with a runner runner flush, but the Turn soon squashed that idea, before the River finally sealed his fate. As he departed, I overheard him confess to a friend, "I didn't fancy coming back tomorrow with just ten big blinds".
