Thanks for the updates, now I know what to do with my time at the office.

Greetings my French ami. In honour of your dedicated interest throughout the day, here's a quick snap of one of your men, Mr Nicolas Levi. "I forgot the hat today," he confesses, "If I win, I'll probably go all superstitious and never wear it again."

Good luck to the hatpimp!

The true professional she is, here's our Jen juggling both coke and hoody, yet still managing to reveal her sponsor for the event.

"I feel rough," she admits on entrance.

Not something you want to hear when you have a percentage.  Cheesy

I was born in the year of the cock (watch it!), but last year was the year of the Cox, the unshaven earring-ed honoury Bad Beater fan final tabling almost everything in sight including two occasions here at the Vic. Must be something in the water down there in Poole.

Following on from Paul Alterman, here's another Londoner/local in the form of Dan Samson. The likes of Tighty will know more about him, but he's been missing from the scene of late, so it's good to see him making an appearance here today.

Don't worry, folks, we haven't accidetnally trundled into the Grosvenor UK Fishing Tour. This is indeed last year's League winner, Dave Smith, looking happier in this photo than he did when he won the Brighton leg.

This may appear to be a strange mating call at first glance, but it is in fact Alex Martin running away from the camera like a big girl's blouse. Still got him though, nobody escapes the flash of the blonde poker camera. Mohahahahaha! Ahem...

Finally, and before I crawl into the cardroom to grab some early Level 1 hands, here's a photo of the cardroom as a whole, with a cheeky Brian Gilbert, who, incidentally, finalled in this very event last year, sneaking into view.

Yes, it's true! The starter gun has fired, the familiar sounds of chip riffling and clicking are resonating throughout the Vic and the crazy kids who stumped up a cool grand are doing battle as the GUKPT London commences.

As I meandered round the tables in the early stages, I didn't manage to spot any early carnage, other the sight of a danish pastry that had been mauled by Barry Neville. It wasn't a pretty sight...

Barry seems happy after his wedding anniversary celebrations last night. "Spen t'night in Vic!" he told me proudly. I bet you this was just machismo talking and he actually had some soppy arrangement of flowers and chocolates to give to the wife though.

He told me to say he sends his love to blonde. See I told you he was soppy!

We are just typing up a full player list which will follow shortly but from an early glance round the table configurations it looks like table 7 could prove interesting...with Barney Boatman, Willie Tann and Luke Patten sharing the felt there are likely to be heartbeats racing and chips flying aplenty on this table.

Photos of the updaters in their new blonde/willy hill gear would be good.

"Monkey to the cardroom, Monkey to the cardroom," demands the tannoy.

So, the rumours are true!

Well, definitely 200 today, with a waiting list too! And with one level almost completed, we're still without an exit... according to the board.
