Afternoon updaters, hope you'll be posting more entertaining reads. I also hope you didn't convince jennifer to stay up drinking white russians last night... I'm checking from the comfort of my own home, so lets hope its a good day :-)

As correctly predicted by Mystic Chili (I think I had a vindaloo called that once), the Devilfish is now OUT, his push with an open ended straight draw being called by Ace high to leave the former WPT winner rocking and rolling towards the door.

There's around 40k in the pot and a board that reads
when I wander over to Table Tann/Colclough/Bradpiece/Kam/etc, and James Sudworth has moved in for another 11k or so. Anthony Quinn dwells long enough to have the clock threatened, if not actually called on him, and during this prodigious pause, we actually manage to miss the exit of John Gardner on the next table along, so focused are we on waiting for Quinn's decision. Everyone else at the table is looking bored, except for Willie Tann, who's standing up and looks really angry. Even the all-in Sudworth has sort of lost interest and is chatting to Anthony Chapman next to him.
Anyway, while we grow old, Quinn calls.
Anthony Quinn -
James Sudworth -
Absolutely no help for Quinn from the
river, and James Sudworth has doubled up.

We've more departures than Waterloo here today, the latest Level 1 casualty being the slick Mark Segal, his K-Q receiving no divine assistance against Joe Grech's A-Q.

She does it to herself, man...
Actually she played so well after a few glasses of wine on Day 1, we're considering buying her a few today to perk her up a bit. Hair of the dog and all, and seeing as Snoopy hasn't showered so the option of his bleachy locks is out, booze is probably the way forward for everyone...

The Thewster is down to just 13k or so, what with the blinds and I believe he may have raised once or similar...

Shortly before the departure of Devilfish (table now re-christened Table Jen, seeing as Chili has been moved to Table 9; otherwise I would obviously have re-christened it Table Hot Blonde Girl-On-Girl Action), a double-up for John Burberry. I think what may have happened (missed the very earliest part of the hand) is that Ashley Gorman raised and then Burberry re-raised, leaving himself around 13.5k behind. Gorman re-raised all in to cover him, and after a surprising amount of dwellage, Burberry called.
John Burberry -
Ashley Gorman -
Board -
Gorman is down to just 13k or so.

He doesn't look too happy about it, but Darren Pearce was the recipient of an early double up, his A-7 surviving against A-6 when a 7 hit the Flop.
the name rings a bell, has he played any other big tournies in the last few years?

Was he maybe at the Aussie Millions in January 2007?

I didn't catch the hand, but Sebastain Saffari has been spotted on the rail, retelling a hand to someone on his mobile, and donning the disappointed expression of someone who had just been eliminated. I'm no Hercule Poiroit, but I'd say he's OUT.

Big Joe Grech has eliminated the shortstacked Mark Segal. Joe's hoding of T-T was crushing the A-5 of Mark and a Q-6-T-Q-5 flop only further cemented the dominance of Joe's hand, sending Mark off to the rail.
Joe has seen it all in poker and quietly swept the chips neatly into his stack.
Many people would slow down after winning a pot, but Joe was straight back on the attack, raising it up to 3.2k before the stripily shirted Niall Charlton pushed for 20k or so.
Joe began a muttered monologue to himself at this point.
"Big raise, big raise, hmmm. What have you got? You're very quiet. Do you think I'm ahead?"
"Depends what you've got" was the terse reply from the statue-esque Charlton.
"I'll give you a break....just this once though! Everyone deserves ONE break" ....Joe passed flipping the
but his chat was obviously intended to warn people off from re-stealing off him.

Jerome Bradpiece has had a torrid time in the early stages.
I joined his table to see a large pot being mvoed away from him toward the stack of his neighbour Anthony Chapman.
The cards were swept up almost as soon as I arrived but I thought I saw
in front of Jerome and the
in front of Anthony with 3 or 4 clubs on board.
I heard Anthony mention to someone "I got a bit lucky there" suggesting he perhaps rivered a superior flush to beat Jerome...
This knocked Jerome down to 110k or so...
Next up, Leo and Jerome became involved in a pot.
The two players saw a flop of
.
Jerome checked to Kam who quickly tapped the table and checked behind.
TURN:
Jerome: CHECK
Kam: a quick bet of 8k
Jerome: CALL
RIVER:
Jerome: CHECK
Kam: 14.5k allin bet
Jerome blinks a few times before announcing he is calling.
Kam flipped over 6-6 for a set and Jerome nodded his head and mucked his hand.
Two big hits in a row have knocked Jerome back from the chip lead down to circa 75k...
Here is teh upwardly mobile Kam with his newly acquired chips.
