Many congratulations to Bob Malin from Cornwall, who has won the APAT national rankings for season two.

To give some scale to Bob's achievement, over three thousand players participated in APAT online, regional and national championship events throughout the season, with six hundred players scoring ranking points.

Bob scored points in an incredible twelve events, both live and online, and secured four golds, two silvers and one bronze medal.

Starting the season in great style, Bob won the first two southern regional events at Plymouth and followed up with online wins in the World and Slovakian Opens, taking a commanding early lead at the top of the rankings.

A fifth place in the fourth regional event plus two further medals in the Serbian Open (third) and final leg of the Regional Championships (second) saw Bob continue to dominate the leaderboard and secure the southern regional championship.

However, despite three further points finishes in the Ukranian, Romanian and European Opens, followed by a second place finish in the Russian Open, Bob had still not secured the rankings title as we entered the final phase of the season; the online World Championship of Amateur Poker.

A Silver in the opening WCOAP Omaha event brought Simon Auckland level on points with Bob for the first time all season.  When both he and Bob made the final table of the WCOAP Stud event, it was Simon who cracked first, going out three places earlier - allowing Bob to take the season two title, climaxing a thrilling season.

I caught up with Bob; who was selected to represent England, at the recent European Team Championship in Brighton, to talk to him about the season and his plans for the GUKPT Grand Final in London, his prize for topping the APAT rankings.

Many congratulations to Brian "Weebrick" Clarke who has just won the GUKPT Blackpool event, beating fellow APAT member Zachary Ford heads up.

Brian, who was the last standing AWOP team player at the recent APAT UK Team Championship won £79,000 and a seat at the GUKPT Champions event.

Zachary, fresh from his recent Gala Poker Tour win, took £75,000 when a deal was made between the players heads up.

Blackpool was a great event for APAT'ers with several members going very deep.  Well done to you all.

Yeah it's a dodgy list without blonde poker imo.

Decided to buck the trend of Stars and go for Full Tilt, I figured most will vote Stars.

Nice twist in the Bob Malin story above, in that he knocked the Devilfish out of the GUKPT Grand Final, before losing a decent stack when getting his chips in ahead later in the tournament.
