Isabelle Mercier is down to 7.5k after one particular hand.

I missed the preflop action but Isabelle bet out 2k on a flop, only to find Pier Fabretti raising in position to 5k.

Isabelle huffed and she puffed, but ultimately it was her house of cards that blew down as she threw her hand into the muck in disgust. She instantly leapt to her feet and walked away from the table, steam pouring out of her ears, looking as though she wanted to kick some serious butt. A channel cleared in the dense throng of watching press to let her pass as she sliced through them like a little Canadian firebrand through some eurodonk butter.

Here she is mid decision, seconds away from combustion.

Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier, winner of the Caribbean leg of the EPT , is now very short. Climbing to the heights of 17k earlier on, he has since had several bluffs picked off and finds himself very short on 3.1k.

One of the casualties of today is Brian Flood. He will no doubt be an unknown to most people but I spent sometime talking to the Canadian player at the opening of the EPT. He told me he plays thousands of online comps every year as well as being involved in the running of a big chain of pool halls.

I promised him if he did well then I would get a few pictures of him and some good puns on his name, but as he busted out before I got the chance, all i can say is that "Flood is all washed up." Good game sir!

Mads Wissing Andersen (best middle name ever imo) raises to 425 from midposition, Danny Ryan calls next to him. Everyone else folds.

Mads checks, Danny bets 600, Mads calls.

Two Diamonds

Mads checks again, Danny bets 1,300 and again Mads calls.

Mads checks once more and Danny fires a third 2,500 bullet. Mads calls, Danny taps the table and mucks. Mads shows .

Good bluff or bad bluff in your opinion guys?

I think this is actually a pretty sophisticated play by Danny, he's triple barrell bluffed every street and might have had every expectation he could get a hand like A-J to fold. The A-J is only beating a bluff after all!

Thoughts?

I can't think of a hand that calls on flop and turn but folds river - bad bluff.

Sounds like there's history here, I'd say that maybe Danny image isn't as solid as it could be.

IMO, Mads should have re raise on the flop to take information flom Danny... because cold calling every bet like that, is too passive on that flop IMO..., and with someone like that who cold call the flop and the turn, always IMO, I wouldn't have continue to bluff the turn... the guy could have the king or be a calling station with the Ace. In both cases, I'm beaten.

Roberto Romanello has just doubled up to 26k getting it all-in on a flop with pocket Sixes against which was drawing much thinner than it could possibly imagine.

Elky is OUT. 8-8 vs J-J on an A-J-8 board.

Soren Kongsgaard has 15k having disposed of Marco Traniello on a K-high two heart board vs .

Mike McDonald makes a nice little value bet on a Two Diamonds two hearts with against Juha Helppi for 1,100. But soon after he loses 4k to a short-stack calling a limp/re-raise all-in with A-J and finding himself dominated by A-K. He has about 7k remaining.

thumbs up

See my previous post re: Ramzi Jelassi, we think he was knocked out holding 7-5 on a Q-7-5-4 board vs Ramzi's 8-6, having c/raised all-in on the turn. But Ramzi felt that it was an Italian guy. We don't know what Shutt looks like or where he's been moved otherwise.

Arnaud Mattern, winner of the EPT Prague and owner of the most celebrated eyebrow in poker, is looking a bit short, holding a mere 6.5k at the moment.

Danny Negreanu is busy raising almost every pot in late position as he is prone to do and so far his strategy is paying dividends as he is up to 20k or so.

Here he is, receiving a massage from an invisible Suki and loving it maybe a bit too much.

I travel over to EPT Dortmund final tablist Johannes Strassman's table only to find the ex-army man has gone AWOL. I send out a team of commandos to locate him but manage to catch a shot of his impressive stack, up to 23k+ at the moment.

Also notice the worst attempt in history to appear surreptitious whilst sneaking into a photo by the dealer...

Aha, my commandos report back successfully and have tracked down Strassmann to a location near to Danny Ryan. I move in with my reconnaissance team and we discover him chatting away to the currently less successful but equally cheerful Danny Ryan, down to 7k after that unsuccessful bluff earlier.
