How on earth do you get involved in a 3k pot pre flop with 34 on hand 1!!!
5-6 players means it was 500-600 pre flop!!

I think the blinds will have been 50-100, and I guess the AJ raised 4x BB.
FISH ALERT
3c4c isn't *that* bad for 400 when theres already 1600-2000 in the pot.

Well it is.....
Depending how many chips you have.
You are going to have to pay a dear price fow whatever draw you flop. Your calling 500, i am guessing it was 10k stacks but i dont know. Now on the flop you are going to have to call of 20% of your stack to chase a draw on the very first hand!!

Yup, 10k stacks. Personally I would fold here. But the case can be made for the call. But as you say, your pretty much hoping for a perfect flop.

I can't make the case for a call, unless you are playing weak players.

I didn't say it was a good case. I said a case can be made. Like the defense team are trying to do for Saddam Hussein.
