"I've never seen a final table like it," observes Chris Bruce, as he quietly watches his opponents takes chunks out of each other.

In what I would call the latest bout of testosterone poker, we have a three way raising war on a Flop, Kevin Lund leading the way with a 25k bet, followed by a raise to 75k by Daniel Byrom from the button, before we see Garinder Purewal gently slide his entire stack over the line after a momentary dwell. Kevin, who was previously unaware that Garinder was still in the hand and was braced to fold, suddenly umms and ahhs before indeed eventually folding. Back to Daniel, and although he only has 115k left in the bank, he jumps out of his seat flustered and leans against the back of his chair. Clearly aware of the Q-2 bluff that Garinder made earlier, of which was highlighted by Kevin before he passed, Daniel makes a brave call with (he may simply have felt pot committed), even, at one point, I believe, putting Garinder on the that he did indeed have.

The Turn missed Garinder completely, and although he made a pair with the on the River, it wasn't enough. As a result, Garinder finds himself down to the felt with circa 50k chips and, if my spider senses are correct, fully preparing for a unhinged series of all-ins.

Disgraceful and totally out of order making a comment like that, and knowing you are folding too.
I hope he was warned when there is still a player to act in the hand

Garinder Purewal is OUT and becomes the 5th place finisher winning £3,373

As predicted, Garinder pushed all-in the very next hand, but showed an Ace after Alan Stearn conceded 7-4 from the blind. The following hand, however, Stearn (pictured below) had no intentions of folding, finding A-K with Garinder once again pushing before him. Garinder showed A-7, but a King on the Turn sealed the deal and left a bemused youngster wondering how he failed to better his 5th place showing from last month. Still, like Pete Linton, he's proved to be a real chip getter with plenty of game, so ought to be one to keep a close eye on.

And it's all over!

Alan Stearn is on the button and he tries to check. He is not allowed to do so. There is much hilarity. Meanwhile Kevin is murmuring something about a chop. The hand continues but nobody seems massively interested any more...

...And indeed they do chop it. It's decided that they'll each get 4th place money and the rest will be decided on chip count.

So, in official terms I suppose,

Alan Stearn finished in 4th place with 380,500 chips, winning £8,699,

Kevin Lund finished in 3rd place with 435,500 chips, winning £9,326,

Chris Bruce finished in 2nd place with 451,000 chips, winning £9,503,

and the technical WINNER!!! of this month's DTD £300 Main Event is Daniel Byron with 453,000, winning £9,526!!!

And I think £400 or so for the excellent dealers.

I think. Anyway, as you can see, there wasn't much in it, so congrats all, especially Mr Chris Bruce because he's just bought me a large bourbon (impartial reporting, this), many many thanks to the awesome folks at the totally awesome DTD, and goodnight. Barring photos in a sec...

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.
