I was hard up for something to watch yesterday afternoon so flicked on to the Anytime on the old Sky box and decided that I'd watch an episode of Banged Up Abroad, it was about some Aussie guy that got involved in drugs in Thailand.  Anyway, the Mrs comes home with 10 mins to go and we're off out to a friends childs birthday party.  Come back later expecting to watch the last 10 mins and bloody hell, it's been removed from the Anytime!

I spend a whole day meticulously researching a laptop that I am interested in buying, features price etc etc.

Finally decide it will do the job and I can get the cash.

of the 30+ companies who quote prices not one of them has it in stock or has any idea when they might.

even the manufacturer is out of stock and they want £500 extra than the quoted high street price.

asked a roofing company to assess my roof and quote me for any work that needs doing

they say they will come round on saturday at 10.30

They turn up at 11.15, without a ladder!!!

They say they'll be back later with a ladder to take a look

Dont see them again

Get this today

Dear Mr Swindells
We have the pleasure in confirming our estimate for work to be carried out at the above address.
Supply and erect a scaffold with hand rails and tow boards to the front and back of the elevation for access to work.
Cost £465-00
Take off and store all good sound slates from the back and front of the main roof, take out and dispose of all wanted slate batons treating all damp effected timbers.
Supply and lay breathable felts fixing treated batons fitting back the good sound slates, allowing for breakages.
Replace the broken slates were removed refitting back the existing ridge tiles.
Take out and replace the lead from the chimney to the back elevation allowing for removing all waste when work is being carried out, clean gutters, take down and remove scaffold.
All work is guaranteed for 10 years on completion.
Cost £1879-00
Cost of of work £2344-00
Plus Vat@17.5% £410-20P
Total Cost £2754.20p even though we couldn't be fecked to turn up with a ladder or even bother looking to see if you needed any work doing
We trust that this meets with your satisfaction should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to telephone the above number.
Yours Sincerely
Maurice Fitzgerald

i dont know what your roof is like but there is a possibility they didnt need a ladder to see if it needs replacing (although not ideal when a roofer turns up without one i will agree)

Just google imaged "gay pride" to send a mildly funny email to my friend at work.  Unknown to me my new fangled windows cheekily installed a new "Gay" drop down menu onto my main task bar.  FFS.  Just had to sheepishly ask the IT guys to remove it Sad

Couldn't find the bad beat thread.

Just finished second in a freeroll for £155 but feel like i've been kicked in teeth.

Was heads up with a 4-1 chip lead and lost the following hands.

All in preflop with AKs v ATo - he rivered a straight
All in preflop with A7s v KTs - he rivered a straight
KQ v 63s, raised preflop, checked a harmless 2 4 K flop, turn 5!!!!
All in preflop with A4s vs K5o, rivered an Ace but couldn't beat his two pair!

1st was for £260, so not a mega loss but annoying still the same!
