(thread title is in tribute to the new queen tribute band .... awesome performance  from all ... special mention to ShrekITB..legendary sir !!)

So, the curtain falls on blonde bash 6 and nearly everyone who attended is now home, or on their way home.... the long time taken in planning, negotiating, stressing and general mayhem behind the scenes by the staff and mods is a long and distant memory...(for a few weeks before we start working on the next one !!)

When Ginger and myself set off from Portsmouth on friday midday, we talked about previous bashes and wondered whether this one would rank up there with others ... that question has been answered .... stay with me ...

Friday was a case of get to the hotel, try and resist going straight to the bar and get up to the room for a shower and get changed for the evenings entertainment... i managed that task, despite the fact that Duke and the Chezger boys were already on their umpteenth bevvy !

Suitably refreshed from the long drive, we joined the bar full of blondes and the entertainment and banter was in full flow, its amazing how well everyone just mixes in and even people that were attending their first blonde bash were within seconds part of the gang and made to feel at ease and very very welcome, we are lucky that we have good people in abundance at blonde.

From the hotel bar we eventually made our way via a fleet of cabs to the chosen venue (Nice one Claw) for the Karaoke...I was a bit dubious at first we were the first cab to arrive and there was a distinctly naff version of "Barbie Girl" being sung by 2 young ladies and some old chap that should have probably known better!!  bloody awful, but as more of the crowd started arriving, the atmosphere was buzzing and the drink and fun was in full flow.. if memory serves, it was Claw that started the blonde singing and did a bloody good job of it too .... then it was just amazing, blonde after blonde was up on the stage belting out a song and getting into the swing of things ...I even managed to get up there myself, though it took a severe intake of Jack Daniels to provide me with the courage to do it Smiley.
After an amazing evening of laughter a few of us headed off to a different type of "karaoke bar" where much fun was had by all ... a little too much fun was had by some Wink ... but you know the law, what happens on tour stays on tour Wink.

With a weary and somewhat cloudy head, I had to skip the footy as I needed to be at DTD at 12 to get everything set up along with Jane, being the great delegator that i am, i left Jane to do everything on her own until Rober and others arrived to help her, while i drank copious amounts of coffee and smoked loads of cigs Wink

I did the little 5 minute pre comp spot ... and gave out a few awards, for those that werent there ...

The "If I was made of chocolate I would eat myself" Award ..

in 3rd Ariston
in 2nd Flushy
winner by a landslide was Indestructable, who had to wear a massive pink comedy tie emblazoned with the words "I'M Hot" .

The "I could start a mass brawl in an empty phonebox" award.

despite several nominations, the award was presented to Diceman, he received a hand medicine dispenser in which to store his chill pills Wink

The "Sense of humour bypass award"
3rd M3boy
2nd M3boy
winner for "Monkey porn" was Bainn heres the link as promised for anyone that missed it
http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=32369.0

M3boy (Paul) was also awarded a money box, so he could start saving up all his bad beat 50p's and treat him and charmaine to a villa in florida.... they should be moving in around June Wink

A big thankyou to all the "winners" for taking it in the spirit it was intended, superb stuff everyone.

The comp itself was great fun, I managed to fail in my quest to defend my title, I eventually donated my stack to Jen, when her A8 was too good for my 55 ... i like to think it was my lucky chips that set her on her way to victory LOL

The comp was a special one, played in the standard blonde spirit, we just seem to get it spot on at blonde bashes, and its great to think that we were pretty much the blueprint for things like the APAT way of running events, and others that now run events to be enjoyed ... imitation is indeed flattering, and all blondes should be proud to be trend setters in this way.

Sunday ... many sore heads gathered for the quiz and despite our fears at letting Ironside loose with the reins, he surpassed all expectations and produced a fun, enjoyable quiz .. respect Ironstein

Heads up comp, Roshambo .... all a great success, well done and thankyou to Ginger & Robert for running the heads up comp, and to Rod paradise for overseeing the Roshambo ... kudos.

At about 9pm a group of us left DTD and took up residence in a pub near our hotel, as the night wore on we were joined by more, and the hilarity and fun that ensued was unbelievable, i awoke this morning with aching ribs from laughing so much ... among many many brilliant moments, the one that made me laugh the most was when Laxie was in full on mode ... she finally paused for breath and as the silence was being welcomed by all around, her long suffering Hubby Timothy pipes up ... "FK MY LIFE" in his Irish brogue ... genius timing and everyone was in absolute hysterics..

So overall, did BB6 live up to expecations ??

You bet your arse it did, superb from start to finish ... and as exhausting as they are, I for one cannot wait for the next one.

Thaks to everyone who was there for your kind comments over the course of the weekend, they are much appreciated by everyone who works hard behind the scenes to make these events a success.
