All numbers are approx because I'm bad at remembering stuff. MTT 27 players left only top 5 paid £2.3kish for 1st, I'm playing for top 3 minimum really.

Blinds are 200/400 50 ante, 5 mins till blinds raise again to 300/600

I get  in SB and I have about 6.5k at start of hand

3 or 4 limpers plus both blinds are in so about 3k in pot

Flop

I check in SB and it gets checked round to last but one player who bets just shy of 2k maybe 1700 or so, button folds.

I'm next what should my move be? If I go all in its about another 4k on top of bet.........

Check/fold the flop.

1. Your stack isn't big enough to CRAI here.

2. People can never fold an Ace in a live comp.

3. People can never fold a flush draw in a live comp.

Push preflop is much better imo.

As it turned out I did check raise all in got called after some deliberation by AJ and lost, I think folding on the flop in hindsight would have been the best option.

I do push preflop in this situation sometimes, however I'm a known blind thief and I often get called fairly light, I reckon AJ may have called anyway, so I do have to be a touch careful with this move. I also think I get called if I push first on the flop, probably being put on a flush draw.

Sounds like the spots above top 3 are REALLY good. Wink
