From AWOP -

Our first casualty is Mr Karl Mahrenholz, running his Q-9 smack into A-Q. Thoughts of his assassin: "Queen and a Nine is all mine, all mine, Queen and a Nine is all mine." Probably.

On the big train to Bustoville so far:

Karl Mahrenholz, who shoved with Q-9 suited in Andrew Jackson's A-Q.

Tahir 'Maldini32' Akram, who moved in against Dewi with , Dewi calling with in a big blind vs button confrontation, the board coming a clinical .

Jason De Freitas. His A-6 no good vs Mick McCloskey's A-K.

Those with life. And hope:

Dara O'Kearny, doubing up with vs Darren Clayton's .

Ian Farrell, winning a raise with Sixes vs Zak Aslam's Ace King.

Here's the Guiness-Powered Welshman though. (3 pints and counting).

DOUBLE-UPS

Mr Ian Farrell, with pocket Sixes holding up against Zak Aslam's A-K.

----------

Darren Clayton then managed to deprive Mr Farrell of his newly-won chips, making a brave one-off-utg push with, um, . Farrell called with and was horrified to see a Five on the river.

EXITS

Mr Pete Singleton - coming back today the official microstack, he stood a hamster's chance in a barn full of elephants and was eventually done in by Mr T Horne's Pocket Fives against his non-hitting K-Q.

----------

Craig Metcalfe, circumstances unknown.

-------------

The awesome shouty Paul Donaghey, circumstances known. A raising war with Mick McCloskey on a flop resulted in Mr Donaghey sticking his not inconsiderable stack in the middle, and Mick eventually calling.

Mick -
Paul -

Paul - "Come on, no nine!"

Turn -

Paul - "No nine! No nine!"

River -

Paul - "Ahhh ya fucker!"

Out he goes. Mick now most likely our new chip leader on 130k or so.

With Paul Gourlay, a trio of awesome poker fashion stylings:

Jon Huckle raises to 3,600. Rob Garfield flat-calls before Mick Fletcher moves in for around 20k. Huckle counts out his stack then moves in. Garfield folds quickly.

Fletcher:

Jon Huckle:

Both men shrug in a  'oh it's one of them ones' kind of way.

two hearts

Somehow Mick misses, wishes everyone good luck and leaves the table.

"A million outs," say Praz, "Maybe a little less."

"All goes in on the flop anyway," say Skalie.

Dave Smith is OUT. Jacks in the small blind vs Queens in the big for Kerry Taylor. A count down delays the exit, until it's show Taylor just has him covered by a couple of hundred chips or so.

alert

James Akenhead raises to 3k from early position. Rob Taylor makes it 12k from the small blind. James asks how much he has back, "I had 53k at the start of the hand, so about 41k"

James calls.

two spades

Check check.

Rob bets 10k. James calls.

Rob bets 10k again. James moves all-in. Rob looks in real pain with about 20k left and 80k or so in the pot. With a grimace he calls. James shows , Rob flashes Ace King as he throws them into the muck.

Afterwards Rob is thinking maybe he should pass, "James most likely knows what I have and yet is still setting me in, he's not doing that with Ace Jack which is all I'm beating on the river. I thought he might have Jacks..."

James now vying with Mick McCloskey for the chip lead.
