Anyone here nfl fans?

Who do you support, i am a giants fan Cheesy (Which i didn't choose on February 4th, supported them since i started watching)
Unfortunately i only started watching at game 16 last season, so didn't get to watch a lot of it and can't believe how the off season is!

Also if your interested in rpg games, theres a good nfl one: http://goallineblitz.com/game/signup.pl?ref=12673862

Yes.

Very Keen

Cowboys

If they played all year round they'd be in wheelchairs at 40!

Cowboys!?
Apparently you are our rivals Cheesy same division i think..

I can see them doing well this year, good QB and you have apparently made some good signings to an already good team.

No its not

Here we go

28 teams

2 conferences

4 divisions in each conference (regionalised in effect)

the 8 division winners and the two best placed teams aside from that make the play offs..a knock out seeded comp that runs post season through to the superbowl

where the winners of the american and national conferences play each other

16 game season. Each teams plays those in its division home and away, plus fixtures against those with similar records from the year before

Each team is salary capped, currently $120m..so there are few superstar teams, teams can go from last to first in each year

aided by the draft where the worst team gets first pick of that year's college talent etc etc

The game itself

53 man rosters

11 a side on offense, defense and special teams

Offense

QB, RB, WR, TE (skill positions) and line men (big blockers/protectors of the QB)

Defense

Defensive linemen and Pass rushers (their job is to sack the QB and stop the run), Linebackers (stop run and pass), secondary (stop passes)

Special teams

Kickers, punters and players above in specialised roles

6 points for a touchdown, 1 for a conversion

3 for a field goal

You have 4 downs (turns) to progress the ball 10 yards up the field. If you do you get another 4 goes. If not, the ball is turned over to the other side. Or this happens if the ball is split and recovered by the other side or caught by the other side

Hugely complex strategies that you'll learn in time

happy to answer further questions. Its a wonderful game.

You choked last year in the game agains the giants, cowboys are a better team but when you have Eli playing the postseason of his life it's pretty hard Tongue

Miami dolphins, you had a pretty dreadful season - i don't know how much a team can change in one year (as i've haven't watched a full seaosn yet) but good luck, you definately made the best pick in the draft, first time i saw that guy i thought he will definately be picked first.
I didn't understand anything in the first game i watched but after 2 or 3 games basically understood everything, with a little help form the internet for some minor things. You'll get the hang of it pretty quick, i think i need to have a quick look at the league works too actually...basically it's team with most wins isn't it, but there needs to be a certain number of teams from each conference. So i will check on that too.

I can see the jets being our rivals too, being the same city and all Cheesy

Dolphins..ugh!!!!

get Horneris to follow Bobby1 and the tightmeister sports betting thru the season

Bobby's a north American weather saddo for points spreads. I back underdogs that are hopefully over-priced

didn't try tbh, though this game (Chargers/Saints) is a lot better on paper than last season's.

I try and go over to watch in the states once a season

Did the Meadowlands (Giants vs Cowboys) three years ago
