ive backed Turkey to qualify from Group A at 3.45, I feel that group is tighter than the market suggests.

Turkey might have some star displays from Turan. Emre might turn it on as well. Not sure about at the back and up front though.

I think International games are virtually always tight these days, it won't take a massive amount for an upset at the group stage.

Had a few little bets on the groups on betfair. Generally opposing Russia who looked distinctly mediocre in qualifying and w/o arshavin can only hurt them.

Also a bit on the Swiss to qualify from the group, weak host are always underrated in the betting imo but Austria are beyond bad, so just the swiss.

you would make a couple more pints betting round by round on them to qualify on a rolling stake

other group games worth the admission fee

nothing in group a really, but if i had to pick one game it would be czech v portugal

group b just two games germany v croatia (my nap for game of the group stages) and germany v poland for the war undertones

group c is just a cracker, 6 superb ties (with france v holland my nb)

group d has spain v russia

Fergus does this calculation take into account them finishing 2nd in the group and still winning it or is just to qualify from each section??? obviously if its them winning the group then just qualifying each round then theres the risk of them finishing 2nd in the group

I'm really looking forward to the France vs Holland game- got that down as a 3-2 spectacular to Holland on my predictor.....que the 0-0 draw!!

Does anyone else think that the Czech's are good value @7/4 to beat the Swiss tonight? I really think that the swiss are quite poor and fancy 2or 3 nil to the Czechs
