Okay so I find my self short stacked through no fault of my own, it seems I always tighten up subconsciously as I approach the bubble.

I make it to the final table which is incidentally where the bubble is burst. (This is only a small stakes tourney, $3 90 player, but I'm a beginner so go easy.)

I'm short stacked, barr one player, at the table.

I'm in early/mid position with

I raise 3x BB which is 2/5 of my stack.

Seat 5 insta calls and then Seat 6 shoves.

I decide to shove with my J's...but was this the right move?
Seat 5 insta calls again the shove from the other player.

I end up 8th as my J's didn't hold up. what would you do here?
and any guesses on the other players hands...

Thanks.

this is a fault of your own then.  tightening up around the bubble makes you bleed chips and make it very hard to have a deep finish, which is where the money is.  Forget about trying to make the final and concentrate on making the best possible moves to win.

I'm in early/mid position with

I raise 3x BB which is 2/5 of my stack.

As you have like 8bb's at this point you should be open jamming all in with the JJ.  Rather than raising 3x.  But in this spot i would call so fast i'd probs break my finger clicking the mouse.

Welcome

My limited abilities suggest you had to go for it, you didn't have much left behind. Close your eyes and push.

agree with everything leknave says. it is your fault your shortstacked from what you tell us. tightening up around the bubble is a huuuuuuuuuge leak.

your original raise is horrible, you need to shove JJ here

as played snap call

Welcome, Onthecards.

Shove JJ there all day long, also take note of LeKnave's comments. Despite him being an ugly bastard he is right, its wrong, although excuseable to tighten up when the business of making the money starts.

Please don't fold JJ there in the future or you will get a clip round the ear from big brother Mayhew Smiley
