and also, there is Euro competition to qualify for:

At the end of every season clubs can can qualify for either the SMFA Champions Cup or SMFA Shield dependent on their league position or if they have won one of their domestic cups. The number of teams which qualify for each SMFA tournament varies between each league.

Here are the qualification placements from the various leagues:

England: 4 teams qualify for SMFA Champions Cup and 6 teams qualify for SMFA Shield (2 cup winners & 4 league placements). Please note extra league placements can be awarded based on cup winners.

thrashed Aberdeen 2-2.

Pavluchenko put me 2-0 up but they fought back.

62% percentage and plenty more shots, sigh.

Birmingham Derby...

Poor fitness meant a weakened Villa team took the field at St Andrews. Luckily Joaquin and Metzelder regained fitness after a long Euro 2008 and both starred in a Villa show of total football that was capped off when the rock Metzelder went on a wonderful run and rocketed the ball past the helpless keeper into the back of the net.
3 - 0 meant the 3 points and more importantly the bragging rights went to Aston Villa.

Villa have the best league form around at the moment and are battling to put themselves into contention at the top.
