Crystal Palace Football Club have released a statement confiiming the signing of Gabriel Agbonlahor from Aston Villa for £9.65 million.
They feel that it shows how far the club have come under new management in the last season and a half as they have progressed from a bottom half division 2 side to a top half division 1 team.
The signing is likely to see the end of Fernando Morientes short spell at Palace in which he has failed to score in 15 apperances.  He has been placed on the transfer list.
Agbonlahor will go straight into the Palace squad for tonights home game against Liverpool.

That Aberdeen side has really picked up some points ever since they got rid of that shoddy manager of theirs Wink

GG Blackburn...beat us fair and square..my half hearted approach to the league game last Sunday cost me tonight as I missed 3 players I should have had available.

After a period of just three months away from Old Trafford, Wayne Rooney has returned to Manchester United after being shipped out to AC Milan earlier in the season. Rooney expressed his delight at rejoining manager Andrew Tracey, saying he didn't like all the foreign food they had in Italy, and that he'd been spending most of his wages having pasties flown in from the Greggs bakery in Salford.

Going the other way is Mahamadou Diarra, who was shocked at the transfer, seemingly oblivious to the serious knee injury he suffered in real life which will keep him out for the rest of the season and make his rating go down in the next updates...
