I'm dealt  K in the BB. The under the gun player raises to 3xBB, an another player moves ALL-IN for an extra 1000 when the blinds are 400/800. I decide to call and so does the original raiser. On an 8 high flop i move ALL-IN, and the under the gun player folds.  on the turn and  on the river means i won the hand.
The under the gun player folded  , and the ALL-IN player  .

Later in the night I'm dealt  again and its limped to me in the SB. I call the 1000BB and raise another 2000. The BB folds and a small stack moves ALL-IN for another 600. One more player calls and i knew that he didn't  have  from his hesitation. I then moved ALL-IN which put him all in for about another 7000. He called showing    , and the short stack showed  . The flop came 7 high but the  on the turn meant  lost the hand, and left me with hardly no chips to play with.

Which way do you think the best way to play the hand is, and how would you play it?

need to know your stack size to give any opinion. Also in the second hand I dont think you can legally raise as the all in is only for 600 more ?() which doesnt reopen the betting for those that have acted.

shove the first time..and with 8 BB's left I don't raise 2BBs so might limp/call here...or shove...so shove both.

The size of the other players' stacks is also vitally important.

we need to know stack sizes, if you had a lot of chips you should probably fold preflop.

Bunkem,....its all about ur position and stack size, wiv relevance to your position in the tourney...ie:ur shot stacked at any stage=insta shove and grab ur horseshoe....ur chipped up and its mid to late on in the tourney, call a raise or be the raiser and peel a flop of hoping no ace hits, if you get reraised pre i wud call as long as its not more than 15% of my total stack, if no ace hits then shove regardless, ur either behind to trips or miles in front either way the hand now has to be played, early on in tourn with only minor change in stacks....std raise or std call but no more, coz even if ur miles ahead ur either not gonna get properly paid or ur gonna spunk a load of chips off needlessly....hope the master has hellped...;-))

It was a turbo tournament with blinds increasing every 15mins and apart from the small stack the stack levels involved with the hand were about 10,000 and 9,000 which was probably just above the average stack. At this point the blinds were 500/1000.

What would the best play be in this situation, and what would it be in a more deepstacked, slower levels tournament with about the average stack?

In a turbo event with only 9k left and blinds at 500/1k ur looking at insta shoving here why wait?, what are waiting for? ur have either doubled thru or out....no middle area...if u had 70k in chips and blinds were 500/1k in a large Deepstack event, then u wud have to approach it more cautiously being aware of the players around u and there position within the tourny, id still stick to the afformentioned template.....

In hand 2 you got all the chips in pre flop with KK (admittedley illegally). You lose when you're a big favorite but that just happens. I don't see how you could possibly play this better.

In hand 1 you get max chips in then make the guy who would've won on the turn fold the flop.

Is this just a brag post?? You couldn't have possibly played either hand better unless you were some kind of psychic.
