So do you think 1, 2 or 3 of the strikers will leave?

Do you think you could sign 2 of the strikers you listed?

Meh I do not know. A lot has been said about Eto'o and his fitness/attitude problems, but he is still the bollocks and I read he scored 18 goals in 20 games last season.

I do not rate Keane too highly. I wouldn't mind him going to Liverpool for £15m+, keep Berbs and buy one of the 3 mentioned.

Some big transfers will be happening within the next 7 days...

Have just seen that Sunderland have made bids for 4 spurs players

Steed Malbranque, Pascal Chimbonda, Younes Kaboul and Teemu Tainio are the men reportedly wanted by Black Cats boss Roy Keane.

All four of the players figured under Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane, with Malbranque and Chimbonda particularly prominent figures.

Yeah the 3 ^^ are definitely going. Dunno about Kaboul though.

I've heard that the Keane to Liverpool is a done deal.

(However, I've heard about other done deals before as well that haven't materialised.  This source is a reliable one though).

He's a decent player, and proven in the Premiership.  Just not sure how many games he'll get, or if he'll be Torres' understudy and spend a lot of time on the bench.

Nem what do you think the chances are of spurs selling Keane, Berb and Bent?

Who do you think you will bring in to replace him/them

David Villa, Arshavin, Eto'o and finally Santa Cruz.

No, no, maybe but doubtful and no! Stop defiliing the good players of world football! Wink

I have a feeling he'll play the traditional number 7 role and Gerrard will move back to the box to box midfielder he should be.

Don't get me wrong I love Gerrard's goals up top, but I'd rather have him dominate games in the middle.

Again its another good-to-average signing, like Barry would be a good-to-average signing...  Neither of these will help Liverpool win the league, we'll finish 3rd/4th, again... I'm as pessimisstic about this season as i have been for a while, i cant see anything changing from the last 3 years, i really cant...

On the flip side, I dont blame Rafa or anyone at Liverpool, I just think its virtually impossible to catch Utd or Chelsea unless we spend £200mil and they spend nothing...

An even financial footing with Man U would make it interesting at the very least! Imagine Rafa had the money to spend he had last summer? 40 odd million. We'd be looking at Aguero/Villa not Keane. Silva not Riera.

Except for his first season in England where he got it wrong a few times, I cannot moan about Rafa in the transfer market though. For the budget he's generally had since he's been at the club the squad has improved no end. Usually by one or two very good players a season as that's what we can afford. Now that the foundations are in place, we can do what would be normally a daft thing, like blow a summer's budget on one or two players as the squad doesn't need a huge overhaul.

So far this summer we are in profit by about £5 million or so even after bringing in two attacking full-backs. I expect that profit and Rafa's kitty to go on just two players. I'd really prefer that than adjusting the whole squad again.

He knows where the net is. To play off Torres you dont have to be prolific though. Just hard working and clever. Keane is both.

In Barry I agree with you. I wouldn't tinker with our central midfield. Keane would be an excellent signing for us though. Not only in where Gerrard would play but also in what Keane would bring.

The Keane/Berba partnership was 2nd most successful last year?

Quite probably...

I dont doubt Keane is a good player and will improve what we have, but he's not going to improve it enough for us to challenge for the league...

And i dont say that in a way that i hope we'd sign someone else instead, i just dont think ANY 2 players that are in our budget will make a big difference...
