Is it right that Fulham have paid Everton 10.5 mil for Andy Johnson?  WTF is the deal with that.....Football is fucked up!

He's hitting his peak (age wise) and he's an England squad member + he was under a long contract at Everton =£10.5million

I was thinking about this peak age thing the other day. The general theory is 26 to 30 right? Though obviously it varries for different positions... but - Think of the best players in the world and their age.
Ronaldo - early twenties
Kaka - Early - 20's
Ronaldinho a couple of years ago early twenties
Alan Shearer's peak goal scoring - early twenties to 26/27.

I'm struggling to think of top players who can back up the 26 - 30 peak.

Tony Adams
Sol Campbell
Pieres
Ian Wright

Thats just my club - 26 - 30 FTW IMO

That is all before you had to run 100 meter's in 11.5 seconds to get a trial of course.

I think it is player dependent, you get players like Rooney who are built like men at 16 and others who improve with experience.

every english player is over priced, the fees banded about for very everage english players is unreal and also the money these players make. no wonder clubs shop abroad when its that much cheaper

you can add lampard to the list of players who had there best yrs from 26-30

Amazing how much changes in 2 years.

Finnan to Boro?  He has been a great player for the club, looks destined to move on. Id be happy if we get 2m for him.

He's had a fairly good career - I remember watching him in the U16 World Cup Final - of that team he's had the best of it, with Brian O'Neill second, not many others had much of a career after such a promising start.

Should be a good signing for Leicester, an absolute nuisance of a player for an opposition defender to have to deal with.

Striker's definately peak before 30. There are exceptions but the out and out strikers peak prior to 28 usually.

If Liverpool have 12m there is no way its going on a CB. Could well be trying to inflate the price for him to end up at another PL club though.
