The cardroom problem is the network, it was crap before blonde joined and it now it's worse (not related i don't think) so you were never going to set the world on fire.
This of course without the handicap of advertising every other cardroom and their better promotions!
I hate the ads and i'll moan about them, same as every extra board because they all move away from the original ethos, yes they are a necessary evil but they are horrible.

As I said earlier, promoting partners sites came after we'd had a real run at being self sufficient

the choice was stark, cut costs (not easy for several reasons eg no updates?) or get more income. Advertising, sponsorship and promotion was the best route to do that given the well documented network problems you refer to and the absence of any funding to compete on high rakers incentives.

blonde isn't a charity, it has to make a net profit after costs...to survive first and foremost and satisfy shareholders second. All the time with an eye on its maina sset, the community of members.
