Tsk - the points race was simple. Each sprint gives points to the first four over the line, and if you get a lap ahead you get 20 points. Most points at the end wins, not who crosses the finish line first.
but as no-one is actually in the lead how do you know who wins the sprint when there're riders spread all over the track? riders who are in the process of lapping the field don't seem to be involved in the sprint, instead the points are won by people who are behind them. I guess I'd have understood more if I hadn't missed the start No, if riders break off the front and have not yet caught up with the pack, they take the sprint points. |

OMG Adlington destroys the 800m field 2 seconds off the World Record - 6 seconds! ahead of second place Yeah she just killed them. At the start she wanted to do well (obviously), but said that she was looking at these Olympics as experience before 2012. Some experience! Brilliant swim in the 800m, and I think the commentators said that makes her the most successful British swimmer ever. She's only 19 as well  . |
