Bolt > Phelps

Any arguement?

Not from me.

On Betfair right now, Phelps is still 1.86 to be Overseas SPOTY. with Bolt at 2.76. Good price for Bolt I think.

huge price for bolt!!!!

Not imo ... anyone who produces a PB in the olympics can be rightly proud of themselves wherever they finish.

All you can ask of Athletes is to produce the best performance of their lives at the greatest show on earth .. if they do that they can hold their heads up high regardless of their finishing position.

You've gone soft.

Demand they break their PBs whilst slowing down and doing a little dance like Bolt did in the 100m

lol "I'm just so fucking happy" on live TV, quality!!

Was saying yesterday they were interviewing some guy at the pool about the change from swimming the pool to swimming the open water 10k, his one chance on TV what does he come out with?

"Yeah it's a bit awkward as people are everywhere and you have to keep checking you are swimming the right way"

The correct answer was clearly

"It's a bloody nightmare, you have to keep a look out for sharks"

JP Kelly might think Rebecca Adlington is sweet, but I'll take Vicky Pendleton and Tasha Danvers.  Both seem completely adorable.

thumbs up

why do the basketball commentators keep saying 'he shoots from the NBA 3 point area' or similar everytime someone hits a 3 pointer?

In English basketball, the 3 point line is closer than in the NBA.  If you watch the US players over here, they often go for the 3 points quite a bit behind the 3 point line and likewise, if they shoot from the line, quite often they miss.

That, my old mucker, is a FACT (see it must be I put it in caps)

Perhaps it's something to do with that.

What if...

Phelps was British and the IOC got rid of all "sports" that involve judges holding up numbered cards.

sigh

Great silver in the mens 10k long swim.  David Davis took the silver medal, well played lad.  Could have won, but like he's said, it's a great achievement Cheesy
