Went to see the new Harry Potter film, thought it was brilliant.

The performance by Alan Rickman as Snape in that scene with Snape's memories was one of the best I've ever seen, had me welling up and usually I have a heart of stone.

Watched something called Megan is missing....

Based on facts from several different cases... centres on the grooming and kidnap of a couple of 14 year old girls by an internet predator.

Very thought provoking and the last twenty minutes makes for some uncomfortable viewing with realistic and brutal scenes.

Will make you wonder who your teenager is really talking to on the internet...........

Watched Stakeland and Super the other night. Both pretty good. Super is a very very dark comedy and the girl out of Juno is an abso wrong un. But had me laughing a fair bit. Stakeland is slightly better than your run of the mill apocalyptic type movie.

Caught up with limitless.... good stuff pretty original but with a fair few holes...but with the suspension of disbelief gear firmly set i thought it was a pretty decent film

Super 8, a bizarre amalgamation of spielberg movies this is the goonies meets ET meets close encounters with cgi alien and the plot holes of AI. Spent most of the film waiting for the fat kid to do the truffle shuffle

Priest

A strange mixture of horror sic-fi and also had an oddly spaghetti western feel to it.
Set in a futuristic alternative universe man had fought vampires for thousands of years. Now these are not tall dark handsome stranger type vampires that fly through your night time window to give your jugular a little love bite, more sort of slimy blind monster type things with fangs that want to rip you apart.

The church is prominent and trains super cool fighting machines simply know as priests. They dispatch the vampire menace to the wastelands to live in prison like hives whilst man holes up in great fortified cities and disband the priests proclaiming the vampire menace to be over.

however the menace rises again and after the baddest ass priest has his long lost daughter taken by a new vampire menace he disobeys the church and sets out to rescue her and finish off the vampire menace once and for all.

As said an eclectic mix of generes that just about pulls it off thanks to some cool matrix style fight sequences and pretty good cgi.
It's a little different which makes it refreshing but it feels slightly rushed, which makes a change these days as they usually like to drag out running times beyond 2 hours.

All in all def worth a watch and worth a reasonable 6/10

Splendid review sir, spot on. Liked it. An eclectic mix of Spielbergesque generes.

recently watched Brothers with toby maguire, drama based on a man who while serving in the army, is thought to be dead. 7/10

Unknown - not as good as taken (not much is in this genre) but good action thriller 7/10

the new true grit is very good, the little girl in it is the best performance ive seen as an actress for a long long time, 8/10

I spit on your grave, unoriginal gory, brutal revenge plot which i didnt enjoy too predictable and boring 4/10

Takers... Above average heist movie revolving around a crew of top draw armed robbers.

Very slick and some good set pieces... little bit OTT on the slow mo with classical music in a couple of shootout sequences

but enjoyed it
