For the last 15 years De Niro appears to have made films on the basis of receiving unexpected tax bills that need paying.

Blitz

Jason Statham plays a no holds barred cop, not very good story, not very well acted but well worth a watch.

Watched that last night actually, I thought it was alright.  Smiley

OK  I admit it, I had a spare afternoon yesterday and went to the flicks, didn't really like the look of anything but chose Rock of Ages.

Surprisingly it was v good. Cruise plays the main character very well and the whole thing is totally tongue in cheek so if you are stuck for a few hours then its worth watching. The best description is it's Glee for grown ups but with a bit of a dark side and a kind of Rocky horror picture show to it.

I did enjoy the way they performed a lot of classic 'rock' songs in a very light way without spoiling them and Russell Brand playing a brummie roadie had most of the darker lines.

Watch a couple of other Jason Statham films this weekend as netflix was recommending them to me.

the Mechanic- alright worth a look 6.5/10

Revolver- Didn't like it, the storyline just dragged for me, switched off before the end 3/10

Has its moments but they're few and far between, and all in the first half. Ends up getting a bit stoopid.

Anyone seen The Vow?

Got to the point where Rachel Mc found out her old man had had an affair with her old schoolpal, then the trolley dollies turned the film off.

Did she get her memory back and run back into Channing's muscular arms (Tatum not Neil)? I need closure.

Remake of Total Recall.  Not sure why they need to do so many remakes, especially of a film that's really not that old (1990 - shit, that's actually quite a few years ago now).

Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel means it'll be worth a watch whatever.
