Midway through day 1 of Venetian $2.5k event. 20k starting stack. Current stack is 30k. Blinds are 100-200 with an ante of 25. You have been playing pretty tight. You find UTG and raise to 600. Folded round to button, who has also been solid and not shown down many hands - he flat calls with a 22k stack. The blinds get out of the way. Flop You bet 900 and he flat calls Turn You bet 1500 and he flat calls River You bet 2k and the villain makes it 8k total. 6k to win a 15k pot. If you lose it you've still got 15k to work with. Action?

Snap fold and don't bet 3 streets with 1 pair oop in a deepstacked situation

what do we think of the size of the bets?
Raise to 600, 1 caller + blinds and ante's makes a 1750 pot.
Bet on the flop =900 (half pot) 1 caller. 3550 pot
Bet on turn= 1500 (Less than half pot) called and 6550 pot.
Bet on the river 2k (Less than 1/3rd of the pot)
I don't get the betsizes?

US players generally lead smaller (in my experience) and rarely take into account the antes when bet sizing. They give you favourable odds to call all sorts of hands when you are in the BB and it's deepstacked.

Indeed - proportionally smaller relative to the pot.

I prefer leading, checking the turn then call/call if its bet or if it goes check check then a river lead

US players give you a price to draw. so why do you do it too?

I'm the button in this hand. I just want to see what people think of his options on the river.

ok, makes more sense with you as villain
with that action up to the turn I probs check call river. I've given you the price to draw through all streets, no point juicing up the pot now the draw's hit
as played on the river it's probs a pass

So you've reversed it to see what we think he should do? He should fold given the action. Surely with all the calling he's now got to put you on the flush. Unless he's put you on AQ from the start he can't call. Given the fact that you've been solid he isn't going to put you on 45 so the straight's out of the question. He could maybe put you on connected diamonds for the flush but I'm not sure he would. You're only looking at:- . That makes 4 hands that he could be behind to. He can discount trips now because you're unlikely to raise them now that there's a flush draw on board. He should fold but he's justified putting you on AQ and calling. He should then submit to the hero call post on this forum.
