Pires is a fantastic player and was a great buy, ive always thought Dennis Bergkamp was one of the best players of all time myself,if i could pick one player i wish liverpool could of had, he would be the one.

OBV Henry will always take the plaudits, but technically, he wasn't as good as Pires.

My top 3 so far

Cantona

Schmeichel

Friedel

i have to concur that Shearer isnt a bargin. Even though long term he was great value for money he was a british record at the time.

Henri was great value at 11m but not a bargin
