Im out...One of those days when nothing goes right. Had to pass a j on a j366 board after being c/r on flop and then big bet on turn. And a few ak/aq hands where i raised missed flop and had to let go after being c/r. After break i was down to 3.2k, first hand im out limp with 6 6 blinds make it up flop comes q 5 6 all hearts i bet sb raises i shove the rest of my shrapnel in he calls with 9 7 of hearts turn 8 of hearts to leave me drawing dea.
[ ] Im good.
Sounds like one of those days where you begin to question whether you played okay, only to realise that you just ran bad and there was nothing you can do. Frustrating.

BREAKING NEWS
I got in wearing these grubby Fuschia (although they're more a blacky, gray now) trainers whilst football superstar Teddy Sheringham was told he couldn't come in unless he changed the trendy ones he had on.
Rumour has it that Teddy pulled out the line that so many celebs use in their moment of turnmoil... "Do you know I know Snoopy?"

I'm out (James Williams) was out before the 1st break on table 18, one of my shortest tournaments I think lol.. blinds 50-100 had
in the bb guy raised 2 + UTG to 300 sb called, I also called.. flop
Sb checked I checked initial raiser fired out 300 again... SB reraised to 800 I smooth called aiming to get more money in on the turn initial raiser folds
Turn
..SB checks I bet out 1500 he calls river
he fires out 2500 into me I thought he had an underset to me at first, should of just called as alarm bells were ringing shoved my stack of around 6k and he had
for the over set... OH well bad move by me I should of just flat called thats poker!
I'll be rooting for my mate Andrew Gibb all the way everyone should watch out this guy is an unknown dark horse!

Some chip counts from the felt.
Curly haired Dan Carter was not doing so well down to 4,500. "I'm not playing well" he told me, though he doesn't seem too dispirited.
He was very happy that his "wierdest poker player on facebook" thread went down so well. It was a cracker.
"Happy grizzly bear" Jerome Bradpiece is toodling along slowly but surely, his stack up to 13,800 at this stage.
Albert Sapiano is known for his imaginative plays and so far they have bourne fruit as he is up to 13,000 at this point.
Harpit Gurnam has had an unsuccessful first few levels and is down to 5,800. Plenty of play left though. Chin up!

We're not losing men at too rapid a pace, but one war-wounded soldier to be stretchered off the battlefield was
Lawrence
Gosney
. All in with
on a
board, Lawrence was looked up by the energetic-as-ever (see picture of Ngo rising from his seat before making the call)
Billy
Ngo
who revealed a superior
. A
turn and
river was of no use and Lord Gosney was gone.

Ouch, hard luck on the set over set. Coincidentally, Andrew Gibb also suffered a set over set early in the day to see his stack chopped in two.

'Newportlad' and former APAT winner Darren Shallis is currently struggling with 4,175.
"Did it go in one hand?" I inquired.
"Yeah," he confessed still smiling. "I thought my second pair was good and called on the river. He had A-K with a king on the flop."

Bad news for Hit Squad-a-maniacs.
Whilst Praz and Sunny remain firmly rooted in the comp, Chaz is out, a victim of silent assassin
Willie
Tann
.
Bit of a horrible one though...
Holding A-A he limped in, only to find
Willie
Tann
making it 1,000 behind and another player flat calling. He now popped it up to 3,400 and Willie was the sole caller.
The flop fell ten high, Chaz shoved for 6,500 ish and Willie called with Jacks. He looked in great shape to double...good till the turn at least when a horrible Jack fell to propel Willie into the lead. A final Jack on the river was horrible overkill and with that nasty beat 1/3 of the hit squad participants were removed from the tournament.
He looked understandably distraught as he stormed out of the poker room...

I don't know if we've been blessed by the presence of multiple Irishmen today, but one who was unearthed upon my travels was popular circuit regular Rob Taylor. Sadly, it wasn't on celebratory terms however as Rob was in the process of exiting the tournament, his pocket aces running into the pocket tens of Gary Avery (pictured) on a J-Q-T-2-8 board. As always, Rob was a good sport in defeat and made his departure with little more than a murmur, whilst a chagrined Paul King could only comment in the aftermath, "He folded kings to my aces earlier, but he couldn't fold the bullets."
