Sick hand alert !

David La Ronde calls a raise from Paul Noury.

The flop comes and Noury leads for a small 20k.

La Ronde sits there for a few moments before announcing all-in for a big overbet of the pot.

Noury calls faster than an insta-call showing he has trapped Laronde into making a big overshove into his nuts, holding J-Q for the straight.

La Ronde is dead in the water and looks embarrassed to turn over his T-9 offsuit.

But I told you it was sick and the J and Q on the turn and river make a straight on the board to snatch a chop from the jaws of defeat for Laronde.

Noury looks gutted, La Ronde says rather obviously "Didn't realise you got the straight!"

Paul Noury - you've just got to laugh.

David Laronde - LOL donkaments!

Next hand we have Javed Akhtar making a big raise from early position, only for Paul Noury to go into the tank...

Eventually after a while, Noury pushes over the top and La Ronde makes a big fuss before passing what he later claims is Jacks.

Akhtar is all-in with pocket eights and Noury finds himself in great shape with 9-9 and glad to have pushed La Ronde's dominating hand out of the pot.

The flop comes A-4-Q-A-Q and Noury wins the pot rather suprisingly with his 2 pair of Aces and Queens with a 9 kicker jsut outpipping Akhtar's eight kicker.

Akhtar bites the dust...

The jovial Liam Boland and his acerbic wit have been removed from the competition at the hands, or rather the hand of David La Ronde.

La Ronde raced his pocket sixes against Boland's A-K and even though a King hit the flop, the blessed La Ronde four flushed to take the pot to a chorus of sympathetic oooohs and we find ourselves closing in ever nearer to the final table.

Good game Liam.

A few pics of the action.

Martin Green, tootling along nicely on 230,000 or so at the mo.

And Stu Rutter, one of the nice guys of the circuit who is due to run good and seems to be doing so thusfar on just over 200,000.

Richard Gryko has a big reputation in poker, but he won't be adding to his tally of wins today as he has just been sent to bustoville first class, shoving with 2-2, getting looked up by A-J and one ace on the flop was all it took to send Gryko home to bed.

Thirteen remain...the hunt for the title draws ever closer...

Good game Liam.

Just to elaborate on this exit, David La Ronde raised it to 20,000 from early position, only for Liam Boland to push all in just two seats down for what looked to be in the region of 130,000. "I know I'm ahead, I know I'm ahead," said La Ronde, convinced he was er... ahead. Off came the ipod as David continued, "Do you have a pair?" "It would spoil the game if I said," was the reply.

After fiddling with his chips profusely, David was ultimately justified in his premonitions as he made the call with , only to be shown . As the first card came , David looked away in disappointment, but with a subsequent and three diamonds, his attention was suddenly rekindled. By the Two Diamonds turn, it was all over, and Liam's face turned to thunder. By the time the dealer had popped out the academic on the river, Liam had already collected his coat and was on his way out.

"He who dares..." gleamed David in victory.

The last man out today is Andy Warnes. Perhaps one of few to depart at the hands of David La Ronde, Andy tackled his neighbour Andreas Mihail, but sadly the results were no different. All in with against , Andy will have been in confident mood of doubling through and sailing comfortably into the final day, but the nerves were a jangling more than usual as the dealt Andreas a welcome straight draw. Judging by the anxious expression on his face, I think Andy knew his fate, and by the turn, he was following Liam Boland towards the exit door. An academic river tied things up, and Andy was no more.
