Amongst all the Olympics, it's the start of the footy season for some of the Premiership sides tonight.

The Liverpool match is on ITV1, and The Arsenal game is on Setanta.

Relatively comfortable first legs, or could there be a slip up?

This is it then.......the season is up & running.

I think we will win 1-3 & get off to a great start & really can't see Arsenal slipping up either.

both Liege and Twente will feel confident. They might slip up but both should go through against their English opposition

I wonder if the pool match will be shown in Ireland on itv1 , had a gander at the TV guide yday and found no sign of it

I'm assuming it will be a relatively drab 1st leg tonight , liverpool to edge it or maybe a draw , but obv the home leg should be a rollover

Arsenal have NINE first team players missing through injury and will most likely field Ramsey(17) and Denilson(20) in midfield so this may not be the stroll in the park that it appears to be on paper.

I'm actually quite relieved that Twente's perennial top scorer is out suspended for both legs.

I enjoyed the quarter final matches in last year's Champions League - didn't you?

If you've got Sky in Ireland, you can try this:

You have enough strength in the squad though.  Some of your youngsters look very good.
