We're still at our B&B down the road but Day 1B kicks off in around an hour or so with players today including Nick Hicks and Jon Kalmar, but there will be a few players missing from this event due to a clash with a scheduled Bad Beat event over the weekend. This certainly has removed some good players from the field and fair number of people will be fancying their chances against this slightly weakened field.

If you'd like updates on anyone in particular then please let us know.

Good afternoon, folks, and welcome to day 1b of the BlueSquare.com Bolton GUKPT. Sadly, our arrival was somewhat delayed due to the taxi company refusing to pick up the phone (Friday is clearly a 'chill out' day for Haslam Private Hire). As a result, we had to walk the Green Mile down Wigan Road in the pouring rain, but fortunately, the pressroom is sweatier than a wrestler's jockstrap due to air conditioning failure so we should dry up relatively quickly.

Meanwhile, I experienced a surreal dream involving Jonathan Raab, Ryan Giggs, Teddy Sheringham and Bolton Grosvenor Casino. Details are still hazy, but I recall Teddy Sheringham running into the casino (I was watching from beside my car), Jonathan Raab coming outside, and Ryan Giggs hobbling towards the doors clutching his chest. When I went over to ask Jonathan what was going on, he wouldn't tell me. Then, in the distance, a shadowy figure approached the casino clutching a bloody knife. I ran towards my car, but dropped my keys on the way. I ran back to retrieve them, but the maniac was getting closer. Eventually, I managed to bundle myself into the car, but as I was putting the key in the ignition, the man opened the backdoor (I was sure I'd locked all four doors) and clambered onto the back seat. Then Floppy woke me up with his snoring.

I tried inputting this dream into a dream calculator, but response was varied. I'm yet to cross paths with Jonathan today, so maybe he can shed some light on the matter, but until then, has anybody got any ideas as to the meaning of my dream? And who was this mysterious man, I never quite saw his face?

According to the provisional list (we'll publish a more concise line up in due course), today's fields is considerably stronger, or at least more star-studded, than yesterday's batch. Pencilled in to play today are the likes of Ryan Fronda, Nik Persaud, Ash Hussain, Rob Taylor, Tony Phillips, Chaz Chattha, Surinder Sunar, Kevin O'Leary, Tony Cascarino, Stuart Rutter, Nick Gibson, Neil Channing, Nick Slade, Roberto Romanello and Nicky Power. Sadly, and crushing any last minute hopes, the field is still thin with just 79 players taking their seats, although I'm sure we can expect the odd latecomer.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.
