Watching the action of the near table, I couldn't help but notice that Surinder Sunar was utilising a rather familiar card protector.

Although I was later informed that Kevin had lost his giraffe in a pot to Surinder, I soon realised that this was an impossibility as Kevin still had his giraffe in front of him.

"Surinder doesn't know how to change the colour of his," claimed Kevin.

LOL, I can't believe he would gamble with magical colour changing giraffes

Rob Sherwood sprung over to share a tale of woe. He's now down to 15,000 after calling a short-stack push of ten big blinds. "I had jacks in the blind, he had queens, and that was that. Same thing happened in Luton."

Meanwhile, Anthony Shields is heading in the opposing direction. He pushed 8,000 from the button with three diamonds and was looked up by Ali Mallu's in the small blind. The was enough to keep Anthony alive.

Finally, Tony Cascarino stack continues to blossom. He check called 9,500 and 18,000 on the flop and turn of a three clubs board before checking down the river. Dennis Clough showed , but Tony took down the pot with .

Double up for Tim Moreland's shortstack with kings against Roberto Romanello's A-Q. Similarly, Kevin Steward doubles with nines against Alli Mallu's A-K, as does Pippa Flanders against Lawrence Gosney in exactly the same circumstances.

The Alli Mallu one is most interesting, because the next hand, Sam Trickett raises to 4,300 only for Mallu next to him, to move all-in for 100k! A few stifled giggles from the rail but Sam folds and Mallu scoops.

Meanwhile Chaz Chattha and Ian Cox are tipping Tony Cascarino to be a dark horse in this event. "He's really improved over the last couple of months, the guy can really play."

I thought the 1st prize would be more topheavy considering they are only paying 10?

Kevin O'Leary has been taking a battering of late. Twice he's had to make lay downs for his tournament life. On one hand, Kevin raised it up to 4,200 from the cut-off only for Sam Trickett to casually deep reach for another 41,000 from the small blind. Then, several hands later, Kevin led out for 7,200 on a two spades flop, but one again folded to big raise when Ali Mallu shoved his entire stack across the line. As a result, Lovejoy is now down to 30-35,000.

Another player who has seen his stack head south is Lawrence Gosney. He's now dropped to crica 100,000, predominantly due to losing a big pot to Dennis Clough. On a board, the decision was on Lawrence after Dennis had pushed 52,400 into a 45,000 pot. Lawrence gave it a good dwell, but eventually deemed he was behind and made the fold.

A few hands down the line, James Morgan reraised Steve Craig's opening early position raise of 6,000 to 22,000 from the button. As Steve mulled over his decision, James adopted a statuesque posture with his fists supporting his chin. For someone so boisterous, he remained uncharacteristically subdued as Steve continued to deliberate. Eventually, Steve did indeed make the fold, showing in the process and forewarning, "I'll wait for a better opportunity." "Good fold, Steve," complimented James. "I had kings," he confessed after a smidgen of probing. "He's saying he had kings but mucking," observed a suspicious Tim Flanders. "If I could show my hand just to him, I would," replied James, "but I'm not allowed to do that."
