Tournament Preparation

As you know I have always admired your play and tactics, and I wanted to ask your advice about tournament preparation...

I have noticed that often before a main event you prepare yourself by entering the preceding days game and drinking copious quantities of alcoholic beverages with your gang and, after being inevitably knocked out, proceed to splatter money on cash games whilst topping up with increasing expensive tipples. You then turn up for the next days game, in what I can only describe as "a bit of a state", often late and blaming everyone for the previous night.

Given your great success at poker, I decided I had to follow your example - so at the recent rendezvous festival I entered into a round one night with ( names omitted to protect the guilty ) PP and L? during a midweek tournament. Having been knocked out I was "invited" to the cash table where I made appropriate contributions to Mr Barnes and Mr Grech. Somehow I got home, not sure how, but with an empty wallet.

I barely made it to the £300 f/o the next day, and having made a grovelling apology to the Pit Boss (whose bottom I had apparently commented on during the previous evening) and received an alcohol ban for the night and notice of casino ban on repeat offence, I sat down and suffered badly for endless hours sipping water to stay alive.

It was a surreal experience but the truth is your system worked and I made the next day of the tournament, which I seldom do nowadays.

I'd therefore like to know which are the essential elements of your preparation plan ?

(1) At my age the alcoholic intake is a bit of a risk so is there a way I can limit that and still achieve success ?
(2) Is it important to be loud and annoy people one day, in order to get their chips the next ?
(3) Are there reasons why being hungover increases poker performance ?
(4) Does the threat of a ban focus you on the game ?

 Please advise.

Yeah probs, just to make sure it's SP is odds on!!

On a more poker related topic, the Party Super 8pm comp, easiest 150f there is on a nightly basis.

Right so last night i am in it, looking forward to another easy run when i look at the rest of the table.

I am in seat 2, in seat 3 sits Eisenhower1, just bloody wonderful i thought how do i get a tough player on my left in the party fcking super!!!

I looked a bit further, seat 4 none other than a certain Moorman1, well this is just ridic, what are the chances of having 2 good players on my left.

What's this, in seat 5 none other than BustoSoon, fml this is taking the effing biscuit now, i have never seen anything like it on party before!!

So why not look to seat 6, oh what a fcking surprise it's Young mother fcking Supremacy!

Now the game i suggest from here to eternity is to find a tougher lineup of players on party poker....
