I just read this on another site and was shocked by the news.  He was always a nice guy on here and will be missed.  My thoughts are with his friends and family.

 I once played him on tribecca a few years back in a tiny STT and after it was finished I send him a message on here asking why he was playing in a -$1 STT, he said he was teaching a friend to play and joked judging by my play that I needed his help as well. I probably did.

I met Brendan at the Blondepoker/BigSlick event in Waterford last year and like many have said before he was true gent.  V sad news

Just wanted to log in to express my condolences. What a character and a fighter. Despite shaming me with his spot on read at the Dublin Apat i was delighted with his win (forget about 2nd, in my book he was No. 1). Here's what he said to me just to put a smile on your face.

Tell us about the Jennifer Tilly tell on Doc Farrell?!!!

Well it seemed to make people laugh. Doc pushed on a QQ4 flop (two diamonds) I looked down to see 10 10 when it was passed round to me down the other end of the table from Doc. I didn’t want to call him for half my stack, but when I looked up at Doc Farrell, I saw his chest heaving, just like in that u-tube video of jenny trying to bluff, but giving it away by her rapid breathing. Phil Ivey couldn’t believe she had such an easy tell..
So I knew he was flushing, so I said “Hay Doc your chest is heaving more than jenny Tilly’s in that video” everyone laughed, then I folded, I didn’t want to risk giving him 2/1 getting his flush, plus the outside chance he had a queen.

So long Brendan.

Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of meeting Brendan but judging by all the comments on this thread he was a good and well respected man who touched all who met him.
My condolences go out to his family and all who knew him.

I've been trying to think of an appropriate post to make but as has been said before have found this truly difficullt,

Brendan was a great bloke who I had the pleasure of meeting on a few occassions and every time I met him he reminded me of the time in my first ever live event (the first sky event at Birmingham) where he bluffed me off AQ on a queen high flop when after the turn there was a possible str8 (he had 4 high) and turned over the bluff - the smile when he did was just magic and well worth the chips he'd stolen!!

RIP my friend (as he was to everyone he sat down with - ever).

I have only just come across this news, so upsetting.

I only met Brendan once, for a very short time at DTD for the blonde bash, but straight away it was obvious what a really nice genuine guy he was, I am honoured to say I met with him, and like many others count him as a friend if only through the blonde forum.

My thoughts go out to his family at this time.
