After reading that recent thread about macca's milkshakes i have developed a massive craving to stuff my face with that crap. However, i can't be bovved to drive to my nearest Macca's which is at least 10 mins away. It then dawned on me, why the fook dont McDonalds do delivery???
Im thinking about going on Dragon's Den or summat with my new innovative idea to have McD's do delievery, surely they would make a killing off lazy fish like myself??
Thoughts??

Start up phone/net business taking McD's orders or all fast food orders and deliver.

I think they already do it in some places... I remember seeing a McD's delivery scooter on my travels.

You could advise people as to what they should have.

Customer: I'd like to have a KFC delivered please.

Amatakaway: You don't want a KFC, they don't do milkshakes FFS!

Customer:  Good point.  I'll have a BigMac meal with a strawberry milkshake instead then.

Amatakaway: Good choice sir.  That will be £7.50 including delivery.

Customer:  A bargain, that means I can continue to multi-table on Stars whilst you get my grub.  Great service.

Amatakaway:  Don't forget your 30% loyalty bonus for frequent customers.

Customer:  Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Why not just order from somewhere that does deliver food and you get the added bonus of it not being "crap"

I used to work in MaccyD's and we'd regularly get calls at the weekend asking if we deliver.

After a while, I used to take the order and then say "there's a £10 delivery charge, is that allright"
Invariably they'd tell me to fuck off... fair enough.

One guy went.."uhhhhhhm yeah allright then"

Not too sure what to do, the bluff being called, so we just punted the stuff in a taxi and told the driver the score, telling him he could keep the £10+whatever the meals came to.

The reason Maccys don't deliver is for two reasons.

  • The burgers deteriate in quality rapidly. By the time a BigMac came to your door it would be cold. If it was kept hot en-route the bun would be hard and the lettuce brown etc. Sometimes a cuistomer takes a Maccy D meal home and has it without too much complaint. That's fair enough and is their own buisness.
McDonalds wouldn't want to give stuff over to the customer when it was like that though, as it would hurt the brand image.

  • It isn't cost effective to deliver meals that cost under a fiver the same way it is to deliver pizzas that cost a tenner.
