THE INTERVIEW INDEX IS HALF WAY DOWN PAGE 17

Tikay has very kindly offered to be the first,  thanks Tikay

1. Do you still drive ?

Yes, a bit.

2. Really, how many miles a week do you travel ?

Between 1,000 & 1,500 miles per week. It averages 1,200 miles per week.

3. Do you prefer a manual or Automatic gearbox

Automatic, I've not had a manual gearbox car for over 20 years.

4. Have you been on holiday this year, where did you go, (Vegas does not count ,that was work )

My whole life is a holiday, compared to when I used to do "real" work, so I dont need holidays. I did have a 3 day break up in North Yorkshire earlier this year, which was lovely, as there were so many beaurtiful places to see. Holidays, generally, don't suit me, as I am quite unable to just sit & relax, I need to always be doing something. I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than have a beach holiday.

5. If you went abroad, where would you go.

St Petersburg (Russia), Nice (France), the West Coast of Scotland.

6.. Did you ever travel on the flying Scotsman ?

No, & never wanted to, it did nothing for me, it's much over-rated. The GWR Locos & Trains were of much superior engineering quality. My railway fascination really centres on Brunel's materpieces, particularly the GWR.

7. Ever been on the Orient Express ?

As above, no interest really. Any scheduled GWR service from Paddington to Penzance or, say, Fishguard holds far more interest to me.

8. Do you hate flying or just Helicopters

I hate helicopters, they scare me. I was scared of flying, so I overcome my fear by booking a 13 hour flight to Honolulu, Hawaii, with a young lady, when I was in my thirties. I'm OK with fixed-wing flying now.

9. Has Compo ever let you finish a sentence

Once.

10. Have you got Sky TV in your house, which package, family, sport, films, or all of them.

I have the full Sky TV Package at home, everything. But I've not watched TV at home for over 18 months. I may slow down next year, & try & find time to watch Natural Science TV (animals, wildlife, etc), & major Sporting Events, such as the Open Golf, The Masters, the Lords Test, Royal Ascot, Cheltenham Festival, Moto, Wimbledon, World Series Baseball, etc. I just adore "big Sport" TV, it is covered so well these days, but I have not seen any of these for over 4 years.

11. Do the older poker ladies ever try to chat you up.

Yes, amazingly. Intelligent female company is one of my passions, age is irrelevant.

12 Do you hate Dentists, I do can't stand'em

Yes. I'm scared of pain.

13 When you cook a big fry up, do you put the chips in first, or the sausages

I have not cooked for 3 years.I only cook when I'm dieting, & I only cook Spag Bol.

          Hi           Longy

Q  How long have you been playing poker ?

Properly since 2004, used to play stupid 5 card stud with wild cards at university before that.

Q  How long on Blonde ?

I wasn't quite one of the founding members but not far off, over 3 years.

Q  Which sites do you play on?

Mainly party these days but have accounts on well over 20 online sites.

Q  Do you play live at pubs, clubs or Casinos?

I don't play live often, if i do it is almost exclusively at DTD which is only a 10 min car ride away.
I find live play quite boring as i multitable online and am used to playing around 1000 hands an hour online,
whereas getting 20 hands an hour live i find really slow paced.

Q   Had any big wins yet?

No not really i play at most 10 mtts a year and that is where the big money is.
I chopped a few small tournies at Gala Notts a couple of years back, but nothing more than a £1000.

Q   Do you play every day?

Yes unless im on holiday or socialising with friends.

Q   Where did you go on holiday this year

I have been to Dresden for a friends wedding and Bratislava for a stag do this year.
I am off to Snowdonian tommorow to see my parents and will be going out to Cairo for Christmas probably,
as my mum works for the foreign office out there. I am currently planning a road trip round the US
with my younger brother for late this year or early in 2009.

Q  How many miles a week do you drive

Typically no more than 20 miles a week, I rarely use my car as i don't have to travel to work.
Occasionally it will be more if im away for the weekend somewhere.

Q  Do you prefere on line or Live?

Online it is my job and the fast paced nature of the game keeps me interested.
My reasons for not being so keen on live can be seen above.

Q  Who's your favorite Poker Pro?

Hmmm tough one, I like Daniel Negreanu's attitude to the game he seems to really enjoy the game.
Players like Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius for being at the top of the game online and live.

Q   Ever played a Poker Pro, like Aces or Devilfish?

No i don't play the circuit or play any big mtts so haven't really played any of the superstar tv pros.

Q  Whats your favorite restaurant, Chinese, Indian , french, Thai?

Indian ftw, though to be honest i love all good food as my rather overweight build would suggest.
I would be happy to go to any of the above genre of restaurants.

Q  Does your wife/partner play poker?

I am single so N/A

Thanks for the chat,  great answers

                                     The Tank

How long have you been playing poker ?

I've been playing now for around 4 years, and the blinds are getting silly.

How long on Blonde ?

I think I joined in late 2005

Which sites do you play on

For the main part of my "career" I started on Party, moved to Pokerstars, then Tribeca (on the wonderful blonde skin obv)
After Tribecca disolved I wasn't so much a fan of i-poker so moved back to Pokerstars.

Now that I play part-time, I'm on Full Tilt poker

Do you play live at pubs, clubs or Casinos

Not that much anymore. I evaluated what I want from poker, and it's no longer to luckbox my way to a big live win
and all the quodos that goes alongside that.

My goals are currently non poker related, and I just see poker as a way to finance my studys.

Had any big wins yet

I take pride in my grinding, it's not about the big wins for me.

My biggest live cash was winning a £500 event. Don't tell anyone that there were only six entrants.

Do you play every day

I play six days a week, but most weeknights it's only a small session. Tonight i played 3 tournaments and that was it.

Where did you go on holiday this year

I've had a crazy 18 months with topsy turvy personal circumstances, I haven't really had a holiday.

Not that I need one, when you're a "professional" gambler, your whole life is a holiday. It's no longer my occupation,
I'm a full-time student now, but the same thing applies.

I go to Loch Ness for a weekend soon, but I can't talk much about that because it's top secret.

How many miles a week do you drive

I'm not a driver. Failed my test twice recently (silly red lights)
Really should get around to taking a few maore lessons soon.

Do you prefere on line or Live

Live for fun, online for paying the bills.

I prefer fun naturally, but have to pay the bills.

Who's your favorite Poker Pro

Good question. None of the big names probably, because I don't watch poker on the telly much.

I've got a lot of respect for grinders, people who study the game and put high premium on bettering themselves,
who keep their ego in check and are open to new ideas and take time out to help people.
Folk like Longy and byronkincaid I have a lot of time for.

Ever played a Poker Pro, like Aces or Devilfish

I played a few circuit events in 2005/2006 and played with a few. Poker isn't about the celebrities for me though,
I really don't have much of a clue as to who is up and coming on the scene nowadays, or who is on the most TV shows.
I don't watch any of them.

Whats your favorite restaurant, Chinese, Indian , french, Thai

I'll try anything, although given the choice, not the biggest fan of seafood.

Does your wife/partner play poker

My wife and I are currently seperated. She doesn't really play, although I trained her up to the point
wherby she could take over a batch of sit and gos for 2 minutes while I made a dash to the bathroom.

Thanks

                                                        The lovely Tracey Dell

Hi Tracey

How long have you been playing poker ?

I play intermittently - sometimes it seems like I'm playing a different game to everyone else but I've been trying to play poker for 4 years

How long on Blonde ?I met Tikay at one of my first games in Brighton 4 years ago and he told em about Blonde.
I came on to have a look and was smitten.

Which sites do you play on

I rarely play on line, if I do it's Blonde, Sky, PS or Blue Square.

Do you play live at pubs, clubs or Casinos

Luton and DTD mainly but I love playing in new venues with new players.

Had any big wins yet

I had a bit of a purple period a few years ago and in the space of two months I was lucky enough to come third at Luton and chop it for £30,000. I then played in an invitation only game at the Palm beach and got another £30k (my backer took the lions share of that one)
and then got just over £8k at Brighton a few weeks later.

I get a few cashes now and again and recently I've started to take it seriously again and my results have improved.
It's more important to me now to do well than it was a few years ago.

Do you play every day

No-but I always talk poker everyday in one way or another.

Where did you go on holiday this year

I used to go on holiday all the time but this year I've just been to Greece for a friends wedding
and spent a few precious days in Yorkshire earlier this year.

How many miles a week do you drive

Not that many, a couple of hundred maxiumum.

Do you prefere on line or Live

Live every time although Sky Poker is the next best thing, you get the live interaction on line.

Who's your favorite Poker Pro

I'm fickle so I change who I admire from time to time. At the moment I am watching Alan Cunningham
whose consistency fascinates me. Home grown it has to be Julian Thew.

Ever played a Poker Pro, like Aces or Devilfish

Yes. Does Compo and Albert Sapiano count?  Inevitably if you play the larger buy ins - which I used to a lot
 - then you will play against the pro's. In my mind they are no different from anyone else,
they just get the chance to play a lot more which can give them an edge.

Whats your favorite restaurant, Chinese, Indian , french, Thai

Anything where the company is good. I love cooking/entertaining but recently I've not had the chance.
I've just moved and I'm looking forward to welcoming people into my new home for good honest food.

Does your wife/partner play poker

No. He works in an aquarium.

Thanks great answers, Is he a fish ?

                                                            Mr. Kinboshi

How long have you been playing poker ?
3 years and a bit?  Actually, that can't be right, so it must be 4 years now.

How long on Blonde ?
Joined blonde (note the small 'b') in October 2006.

Which sites do you play on
Cash on blonde. Tournaments on blonde and PokerStars

Do you play live at pubs, clubs or Casinos
I play regularly (most weekends) at DTD, and play the APAT events at casinos across the UK (as well as Ireland).

Had any big wins yet
Started playing online, solely playing cash.  Built up my bankroll from an initial £20 deposit.  Then a friend told me about an APAT event at the Broadway casino.  So I played a few tournaments online, played twice in a casino and then played the APAT event.

I got lucky.

Do you play every day
Used to.  Probably play two or three times a week online at the moment, and then once or twice live.

Where did you go on holiday this year
I didn't.

How many miles a week do you drive
Not many any more.  I drive about 10 miles to the office, but share the drive with a colleague.  So 25 miles a week on average to and from work, and then whatever I do at the weekend (usually the 60-mile round trip to DTD).

Do you prefer on line or Live
Live is more fun.

Who's your favourite Poker Pro
Don't know really.  Greg Raymer always comes across as a nice fella. Daniel Negreanu seems to know his stuff and is always good to watch on telly.

Neither of them are as lovely as Maria Demetriou though - so I think she wins.

Ever played a Poker Pro, like Aces or Devilfish
Played on the same table as Jon 'Skalie' Kalmar at DTD on the 50p/£1 tables!  I think he was playing scared...  I've played against Aces and Paul Jackson at blonde Bashes.  Both great fun to play against.

I was lucky enough to win a seat to the EPT in Copenhagen, and obviously there were a lot of pros playing in that, including the ubiquitous Scandies such as Lodden and Boaken, and some of the Yanks such as Cloutier and McEvoy, as well as quite a few Brits.

Whats your favorite restaurant, Chinese, Indian , french, Thai
Japanese.  Followed by Indian.

Does your wife/partner play poker
No, she's a poker widow.

Can I print this on the web site
Of course!

Quite a few folk, including myself, seem to have been playing for 4 years.

To what do people attribute this surge?
Late Night Poker imo, it pwned so much.

It was late night poker that did it for me, but that was back in 2000/2001, 7 years ago i reckon...
