I agree - you have the odds to call. My maths make it that you will be putting $5.60 into $15.40 pot - 26.7% of final pot. So you need more than 26.7% chance to make it +ev call.

Your outs are 9 clubs , 2 aces and 2 nines. Total 13 outs - Approx 28.6 % chance of hitting.

So imo call even if you know it's 66.

if you're going to fold like a big girly when he shoves then why are you betting out? check and you either get the free card or he bets about the $3 mark so you can call and see what the river brings or he (much less likely) shoves and you can pass having saved yourself your turn bet.

I still much prefer the line you took though as long as you make the call.

the bet/pass is utterly horrible though and by far the worst option of all

Tbh his shove was the only thing i was worried about and when he shoves i know he has the set, and yeh the math says " call you fooking moron" but that side of your head says, " your horsed here BTW"

BTW on the flop i was celebratinmg and the turn was great too, ordered beer for a party and everything, when he shoves back... get the immodium out

If you were even thinking about a fold, then you have to work on your bet sizing.  On the turn you overbet the pot , committing yourself totally.

To even contemplate a fold you have to stick in something much nearer half pot size.

Sometimes you just have to go bust, it's what the game is all about.  Embrace it.

Not sure i agree with betting more than the pot with 2 pair and the nfd is proper.

no need to fold, your drawing to enough outs to justify the call vs anything and a lot of the time your probably favourite anyway
