A friend of mine is getting married out there on October 17th, so I'm trying to pursuade SWMBO to let me go for a (very) long weekend. Probably Wednesday->Tuesday, as that seems to get the best flight prices. Virgin £505 for those dates, and apparently they're planning on staying at the Venetian, which I can get for about £600 for their lowest grade room (Luxury Suite). Obviously the Venetian is fairly top-end, price wise. Is it worth it? Are there any hotels close to it that are worth looking at? I don't want to have to walk too far to play poker, obv .

Now I just need to spin up the Stars account up a bit, to be in with a better shout of getting permission. $3/6 limit seems to be profitable recently.

Woooooooo hooooooooo. Finally got permission and just booked. Wedding peeps now in MGM Grand, so that's what I've booked too. Lastminute have VERY good deals on MGM at the moment - managed to get Virgin direct flight + MGM Grand for Tuesday 13/10 to Monday 19/10 with an upgrade to a Bungalow Suite for £835 all in (which is £200 less than the price it originally quoted me - it drops once you actually select it, weirdly). The upgrade was half normal price (£70 instead of £145) so thought it might be worth it.

Seriously can't wait now. First time out there for many many years, and first time since I started playing poker.

Got back from Vegas last week,just thought i'd mention the MGM Privo(sp) card.

When we checked in at the MGM Grand we were offered a privo card,basically it's a prepaid $500 card that can be used at any MGM property,8 on the strip i think.It's only offered at check-in and i swerved it however on reading up on it i got my mate to get one when he checked in the next day.

Basically it's a two for one card,i.e 2 for 1 shows,buffet,selected restaurants etc but most importantly drinks.Drinking whilst not gambling in Vegas is getting expensive $6+ for a beer,$10+ for a large mixed drinks.So when your in a big group as we were it worked well.It states 2 for 1 but it just halves your tab when you check your balance.

I think it's brand new and we had no problem using it in MGM Grand but had to mention it in the Mirage and the Nine fine Irishmen bar in NewYork/NewYork and after a phonecall it was accepted.We definately got $500 worth of booze out of it and even had a few tabs missed completely.

No he didn't bother,wanted to be on the same floor as the rest of us.

A lot of our party were stopping at Caesars and when they checked in on the Wednesday were offered a $50 a night upgrade and got real nice rooms,one mate slipped the check-in girl another $100 and got a massive suite,2 bedrooms 3 bathrooms living room,Kitchen(wtf) eight seater dining table etc.His missus hated it because it was too high LOL.

We sure didn't get escorted away from the pool by security.

Got here about two hours ago, staying at Ballys for three weeks (got a free upgrade too, wiiIii), playing Venetians + some cash + some nightly mtt's no doubt. Would be cool to meet up with any other blondes in Vegas, just fire me a PM.
