Just seen on the news that someone HAS come forward and offered to pay this Ladies costs so she can live out the rest of her life without having to sell things.

There is some good in this world.

I understand that the remaining employees of H&W also started a fund -- sometimes it's a good life

Yes, his name is Mr. Moses Odiaka and he works in the credit and accounts department of the Union Bank of NigeriaPlc, Lagos, Nigeria.

He just needs her full name and address telephone/fax number, company or residential, also her bank name and account, where the money will be transfer into.

Thanks, GOD BLESS YOU.

I dont get why the story of a 96 year old woman having to sell her belongings to live out her last days on this earth should be nothing more than a joke to some people, I guess I must be getting old myself.

Sadly it's not really a story - happens every day to hundreds of people.  Without wishing to sound flippant, this woman's plight really is the tip of the iceberg, and she is much more fortunate than the vast majority who don't get bailed out by a benefactor.

I'm sorry, I don't know her.  It does seem a shame - but here are millions across the world living and dying in absolute poverty.  I just can't get get too upset about her particular case.  If that makes me a heartless git, I guess that's what I am.
