Things are not going so okely-dokely for Mr Tim Flanders, I'm afraid to tell Flanders fans. He seems to have made some sort of move with but ran into Karl Mahrenholz' , the board reading by the time I got there although I suspect this mainly happened preflop. Karl doubled up to around 110k, while Flanders dropped down to just 5.1k.

He managed to double that up a few hands later though, getting it in with against Steve Jelinek who seems to have raised with from the cutoff. Board: Two Clubs two spades .

That hand left Jelinek with just 24k or so, which he open-shoved a few hands later triggering some craziness. Jamie Brown called in the small blind, but James Browning (no relation) moved all in for around 70k total from the big blind. Eventually Brown called.

Jelinek:
Brown:
Browning (no relation):

Board:

Jelinek is OUT, and James Browning (no relation) enjoys a more-than-double up.

Mr Jelinek, btw, is my belated T-Shirt Of The Day:

More dreadfulness for Mike Ellis, in the sense that he is now OUT. A preflop raising war between him on the big blind and William Martin on the cutoff resulted in over 70k in the pot when Mike Ellis moved all in for 30k more. Said Liam Pettman, "I don't like this table."

Martin spent some time running through all the possible hands that he though Ellis might have, asking Ellis if he had any of them, with no success. "Do you have queens?" Shrug. "Do you have ace-king?" Shrug. Said Simon Trumper: "Mike, do you have my nickname?" Said Ellis: "What's your nickname? Eights?"

Call.

Ellis:
Martin:

Board:

Ellis: "Good call."

Martin (after Ellis had left the cardroom): "Woo."

----------------

Mr Martin has also since knocked out Mr Glen Ashworth, K-K against Mr Ashworth's A-5 with no help for the Glenster.

Jon Raab and I have been coming up with possible headlines for the winner:

Paul Riggs - "Live Poker is Rigged"

Matt Heeps - "Matt has Heeps!"

James Morgan - "Jimmy has Morgan anyone else."

Jonathon Gale - "Gale Forces Win"

Karl Mahrenholz - "Blue Square Pro Wins Fabulously Structured Tournament, says: "I owe it all to Blue Square and think you should all play on there."

Mr Cuong Tran is the latest player to succumb to the nasty exiting bug doing the rounds in this tournament at the moment, and has gone home to recover.

Tran:
Jamie Brown:

Similarly James Keys has come down with a nasty bout of no-chips-itis as he ran his pocket fours into the pocket sevens of Paul Rigg.

Tim Flanders is out, trying a stop and go on Jamie Brown on a two hearts with , Brown quickly calling with which held on the turn and river.

Tim, "He finally raised my blind with a real hand..."

Simon Trumper has doubled up through Andrew Clarke with vs despite the scary flop of a board.

Similarly, Stuart Nash has doubled up with against Jamie Brown's , the was pretty decisive, the Two Clubs and two spades on the turn and river, frankly not worth my time and effort.

A Message For The Friends And Family Of Matt Heeps

He says hi! Hi's in particular to Probe (?), Harpy, Dazzler, El Presidente, Craig Miller (get a nickname!), and all the other folks at Rileys in Worcester.

And of course, not forgetting his beautiful wife Laura.

Hello from Matt!

Karl Mahrenholz raises to 10.5k from under the gun, Andrew Teng reraises all-in next to him and it gets passed back to Mahrenholz who is already deep in thought while Teng is as still as a statue.

Karl continues to think, and then, perhaps attempting to get a tell, tries stripping to get something from Teng.

Teng isn't biting though, and in the end Mahrenholz passes the chips over to his young opponent.

Joy for Heeps fans! Do make yourselves known, by the way, and feel absolutely free to vocally support your boy on here if you feel that way inclined.

He raised to 12k utg, only for D Mitchell on his immediate left to make it All In for another 32.8k. Call.

Heeps:
Mitchell:

Board:

Mr Heeps claps with joy as he rakes in the chips, bumping his stack up to 132k. A dejected Mr Mitchell, meanwhile, heads for the door.

During (Mr Heeps looking like a duck, by the by):

After (headgear removed in relief and glee):

With that, by the way, we are down to 20 players - the bubble-bubble, if you will.

Paul Riggs limped in, only for Martyn Frey to make it 12k, only for Mike Moore to make it 25k, only for Rigg to get out of the way, only for Frey to move all in to cover Moore, only for Moore to call.

Frey:
Moore:

Board: a very cruel two spades

Moore doubles up to somewhere in the region of 160k, and Mr Frey is very, very unhappy.

A double up for the Last Local Boy Standing, Mr Liam Pettman, courtesy of a now very depressed Dave Penly.

Penly:
Pettman:

Board: Two Diamonds

To cries of, "Geezer! F***ing geezer!!!" from his friends at the rail, Pettman doubles up to 180k or so, while Penly is down to less than 20k.

The f***ing geezer enjoying a glass of wine. I reckon his railing friends have had a few too:

Attention Karl Mahrenholz fans! The tallest man at the tables now has a stack tall enough to match.

Karl made it 11k in early position and it folded around to Jamie Brown in, I think, the small blind, who made it 33k in total. Karl then pushed all in for another 90k and Brown called.

Brown:
Mahrenholz:

Board: two spades

Mr Mahrenholz now on probably 240k.

Should look happier:
