Didn't he bench Tevez/Mascherano for large periods of their spell there too

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall that West Ham were doing OK until these two actually joined, then performances/results suffered?

Considering Ashley's frugalness, and seemingly wanting to make a profit from his football club, I think the best NUFC fans can hope for would be a Harry Redknapp wheeler-dealer type who can bag transfer bargains. Redknapp's deal ends after this season so MA wouldn't have to pay up much of his contact, or could just tap him up and wait.

We don't need a manager to get transfer bargains. We already have a scouting system that does that.

We need a manager who can make the most of the players he is given. Hopefully Carr has a big say in who we go for.

"Much was made of supposed "over-expectation" from Newcastle's fans. This was unfair - they were not demanding a regular supply of silverware, simply some indication the club might fulfil that potential. Not actually too much to ask."

Today's team sheet tells us 100% what we already expected with how much influence Mike Ashley has on team selection, gg another season at the start of January, lucky us that we performing way above expectation by not getting relegated, GTFI.

I doubt it. Not many of their players were very interested today, which surprises me (not getting into europe, not going down, so might as well try and win the fa cup. not sure they gave a toss though)

Leicester have won a trophy in recent times and manage to sell out there match day pies charging £1 more than we do thus are clearly a bigger club than us, even Pep couldn't have got us a win today.

5000 fans travelled to Leiscter today, many after Carver promised them he would put out our strongest team as he is a fan and wants to see us in Wembley again. He spoke passionately about how he was in the stands against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Fast forward to today and he leaves Perez, Sissoko, Colocini, Colback and Janmaat in Newcastle back at home.

You would think he may actually not want the job, the fans which will be the largest travelling support this week booed the players but it will end up being stupid Geordies for booing their players again.

In the 7 years Ashley has been here we've won 3 FA Cup Ties,
