A lot slower than yesterday, only a couple of exits so far. Javed Abrahams apparently eliminating Om Aggarwal and Peter Seager in the same hand to make him the early chip leader with 30k.

Slight hilarity as it goes check/check after on the river between Paul Moss and Ben Middleton on a T-9-3-6-4 board. Moss shows 7-4off and wins, Middleton looks perplexed. The table giggles.

Paul Bracken, last year's winner here wouldn't mind a repeat performance.

His table are now taking bets on what is the smallest county in the UK...

A-T vs A-9 vs Q-J on an A-T-9 board.

No, it's the Isle of Wight. You lose.

Here we have pictured Melanie Bowden, about to eliminate one of the two players in the hand with her (I'll leave out which one until the end to create suspense...).  A standard raised pot preflop became a monster after the flop.  Small blind Melanie checked, Chris (whose nickname appears on our list as 'Spuddy D' for some reason) Flint bet 600.  Button Mark Blandford raised to a chunky 2,400.  Melanie then reraised to 4,800.

Flint went into the tank.  What amounts to a check-min-re-raise must be the strongest move in the book.  Whatever he folded, he didn't want to do it very much.  But Blandford quickly moved all in, called just as fast by Bowden.

She showed:
He showed: three clubs

He was drawing dead in a heartbeat and left the tournament mid level two.

This moodily-lit chap is Alex Regler.  I don't know why one in about 20 photos I take ends up looking like a film noir soliloquy.  Whatever, he just won a nice pot off Andrew Chambi like so...

Regler on the button must have raised preflop, and been repopped by early position Chambi - when I arrived at the table he was in the process of throwing in 2,500 as a call.

Flop:  .  Chambi bet out 2,000.  Call.
Turn:   Now Chambi checked, Regler fired 2,500.  With only the most cursory of annoyed dwells, Chambi threw away his hand - - face up.
Regler turned the knife, showing him but Chambi just tapped the table.

Stephen Boyd aka "The Mole"

Bryan Martin next to Mick Fletcher, the latter wearing the poker player's new 'must-have' item, a New York Yankees Hat.
