Earlier on in the level, there was a mammoth hand that provided us with a new chip leader in Peter Wilson. On a Q-T-6 flop, Wilson was fortunate enough to not only flop a set of queens, but find both his opponents sitting on sets also, Peter Garrett and Guntis Feldmanis flopping sixes and tens respectively. No miracle turn or river, and a monster monster pot (hail Eric Hall) went sailing Wilson's way. A quick count signalled a rather splendid 125,000 stack.

"Come on, let's get a better one than that," requested Wilson.

Daniel Rudd is right to be smiling, he's just doubled up to 37,000 with pocket jacks versus pocket kings, a third knave hitting the flop. John Sadler was the unfortunate recipient.

"Tell em how many times you've got it in behind," urged Andy O'Flaherty.
"Twice," replied Rudd meekly.
"Twice that you know off," added O'Flaherty.

I mentioned John Eames seemingly being hit in the face by the deck. Well, as I walked past he was betting 9,300 on the river of a and was quickly called.

Eames turned over , for only the top full house. One of the other players said to me, "Go away! Last time you were here he made quads against me"

So now I report Eames isn't being hit in the face by the deck. The deck is beating the crap out of him like he was Joe Pesci at the end of Casino or something.

10 minutes to go now. Avg stack is 40,434 or 101 BB's.

I think a lot of these players aren't the most patient types...

91 players remain.

With just several minutes left on the clock, Dewi James bet 3,000 onto a before attempting numerous verbal techniques to persuade one of is his two opponents to call. Sadly for the Welshman, neither did, although he showed them nevertheless. James on circa 30,000, maybe a tad less.

Right at the death, Ricky Smith eliminated a short-stack with versus , all in on the flop of a two hearts board.

Meanwhile, there was an tense clash between Neil Giblin and Zahir Aslam on a neighbouring table. Giblin made it 1,200 preflop from late position, Aslam defended from the big blind and the two players saw an Two Clubs flop. Aslam checked, Giblin bet 1,900, Aslam raised to 5,100 and Giblin pushed all in. It was 24,500 for Aslam to call, but after giving his opponent the Spanish Inquisition, eventually opted for the fold. Aslam was clearly curious as the holding of Giblin, but was only able to persuade him to show one card, which was a carefully selected .

Last minute double for William Wallace with vs on a Two Diamonds board.

Afterwards he said, "I am William Wallace. And I see a whole army of my countrymen,
here in defiance of nits and passive donks! You have come to play poker as free men. And
free men you are! What will you do without calling stations? Will you play poker?"

"Two thousand chips against ten thousand?" - a veteran shouted. "I'm not a short stack grinder like Mickey Wernick. No! We will
cash out - and live!"

"Yes!" Wallace shouted back. "Play poker and you may busto. Cash out and you
will not be skint for at least a while. And dying in your bed many years from now,
would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for
one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell
our enemies that they may take our bankrolls but they will never take
our ability to stick it in their eye at the vital moment!"

True story.

Chip counts will go up as soon as we receive them. Until then, poach me a tuna, I'll be back for brunch.
