Bagley Set Up For Fall

Pascal Heynsen and James Bagley just went to war on a Q-4-x flop, Bagley holding K-Q which was looking bad versus the flopped set, 4-4 of Heynsen.

The turn and river blanked, leaving Bagley's hopes in tatters and a grateful Heynsen stacked up his newly acquired booty as his chances received a nice boost...

Groanin' Cronin

The alliteratively named Cornelius Cronin is another of the early casualties with the 93 runners already distilled down to 80 hopefuls in the early levels.

Ooops. Not true.

My apologies!

Down to not very many chips at all, he got it in with K-Q against David Rudling's A-J, with a jack on the board for good measure.

Curiousness from Lorraine Healy and Julian Thew now.

Healy limped in utg and Thew raised to 525 from the hijack. The small blind called, as did Healy, and they proceeded to a flop.

Flop:

It checked to Julian who bet 1k; the small blind gave up, but Healy flat called and they moved on to the turn.

Turn:

Again, Healy checked, and again, Thew bet -- this time 1.7k, making Healy lay her hand down.

Sam Trickett doing very nicely, the earing-ed one has around 30k and is looking mean and moody.

Some other counts:

Marc Goodwin 9.8k

James Browning needs to get up, get on up as he has a mere 1,700 atm. "I'm desperate!" he told the table. Owwww!

Ian "The Raiser" Frazer 5.8k

Jerome Bradpiece - 26,000. He is definitely looking, if not exactly svelte, then at least very trim and healthy. He is off to a great start with his chips stacked rather haphazardly but increasingly imperiously.

Paul "Pab" Foltyn - 9.8k. Not the greatest start for Pab who has seen his stack dip below 10k, largely at the hands of Ganesh Rao who is playing the part of mongoose to Pab's cobra at the moment.

Andrew Teng - 5.8k When not playing poker, Andrew is known for his Gok Wan, star of "How to Look Good Naked", impersonations. Allegedly...

Erroneously reported as OUT a little earlier, our sleepy early morning slip-up (to be fair, he was apparently walking around saying, "I'm out") no longer matters, as Adam Wilkinson has actually, verifiably now busted out.

Hot Goodwin-on-Trickett action! The two players made it as far as the river of a two hearts three clubs board, which Goodwin checked. Trickett bet 1.6k, and it was enough to make Player Of The Year Marc Goodwin pass, leaving himself on 10.3k.

Akenhead:
Heynsen:

Board: Two Diamonds

Easy come, easy go...

With such short stacks at the tables, there is a requirement to gamble and Akenhead did just that, getting his chips in with A-J, only to clash heads with Steve Holden's A-Q.

An Ace and Queen by the river meant Steve's Aces up was best, though Akenhead had him covered by 2k or so.

So that's Holden up to 6k, Akenhead hanging grimly on with just 2k....

A gentleman I'm afraid will only be known today as Mate E. Boy is OUT, busted at the hands of Jerome Bradpieceofhisformerself.

Mr Boy pushed in utg and Jerome called from the small blind.

Boy:
Jerome:

Board:

To the dulcet sound of someone else at the table complaining that they would have had quads, Jerome is up to 31k.

Btw, Pab, to Jerome's immediate right, is on 18.5k.

Oh dear, an unlucky exit for Michael Arnold (not that Michael Arnold, the other one). He bet out 1.2k on a three diamonds flop only for Ketul Nathwani to make it maybe 7k, leaving himself just shrapnel behind but covering Arnold. Arnold though about it, then called all in.

Nathwani:
Arnold:

Turn:
River:

Thus Ketul wins the hand in the meanest possible way, and Arnold is busto.
