Good news in that the Team GB football team looks to have the go ahead for 2012. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympic_games/7785935.stmI was worried that the players involved from which ever country would miss out on the chance to play in the Olympics due to politics, glad it now looks to be on. If we can pull a good team together can you imagine if we actually had the chance to win this at Wembley. Superb. [ ] Good News [ x ] Not good News

Most of the players will have to be under 23 in 2012. Obviously there will be a high percentage of English players based on numbers of players to choose from, but would expect players from rest of GB (yes including Scots).
Expect away, all the other home nations are strongly against this, it will be team England.

there will only be english players in the team
Of the standout 17/18 year olds around at the mo who will be at their peak and eligible, not including the 3 overage players, Aaron Ramsey is probably the best around at the mo... [ ] The quoted statement is well researched... [ ] Aaron Ramsey is English... Unless of course the quote simple refers to the fact that only the English will have anything to do with this...

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have said 19836 times they don't want to be involved with this so it will be entirely made up of English players. Personally i think this is a piss poor idea and will passionately support against the GB football team as if it were England. IMO IMO IMO

Sigh, i was going to point out Aaron Ramsey as Welsh and probs in the team but obv Dwayne already has.
Gareth Bale will be 22 then and stands out aswell as a possible.

Not crazy about it but I will route for Team GB as I would England, as long as they don't really balls it up by insisting on a quota of Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish players. It should only be made up of the England under 21s the best players for the job. It should be a nice little run out for the players anyway and hopefully just a one off.
