just had it installed this morning and cant get the sport channels on which is a bit of a shitter since i wanted to back a few dogs, and its no fun without watching them,

the message i get on the sports channels is this


FOR YOUR INFORMATION
This is the wrong card for this Set Top Box
Insert the correct Sky viewing Card
  call 08702 404040 for assistance. 

the phonelines is a usefull as tits on a bore, just wondering if anyone has had this problem and has a solution. cheers

sounds like a 30min holding call to sky

why didnt the installer run through it all as they are supposed to do?

Take card out. Turn whole sytem off at mains. Allow 30 secs. Turn on again without card in - wait until system reboots properly, then put card in and it should accept.

This what they told me to do when it happened to me and it worked. (This is the sky version of tunring the computer off and rebooting)

I've had HD installed and it was just a case of waiting.
Try Dingdell's method but i think it just takes time to go through there system that they have switched you.

are you getting any of the sky channels,if not it looks like the viewing card needs to be matched, engineer should have phoned when he was setting the box up, no option but to phone sky.they sometimes need to resend signal to activate.

On Sky remote.
Press services
4.Sytem Setup
Then press 01 select quite quickly
This puts you into installers menu.
6.New Insallation.
Folow instructions.
This is what the engineer should have done but no harm repeating it.
