First time in NL25. Was up to 37$ from 25$. Opp. was very tigh, PF 2 ; AF 0.8. I didn't push preflop because he call - raised, so I figured he has AA or KK, so I decided to call and see the flop. Was there a way I could not lose all my stack on this? Thanks Smiley

How many hands on the stats?

Assuming reliable stats and your read "you figure he has AA or KK", you don't have implied odds to call preflop to hit your set...

So, perhaps should lay down here, but I'm not going to fault you for how you played it personally. As long as you muck JJ in this spot against this player...

This.

Though once you've hit that Q the money is obviously going in the middle, as AA is part of his range.

~60 hands

Well I was thinking about folding preflop, but...I just find it hard to fold QQ preflop w/ 1 opp.

After the flop we can't fold but like MC says, you aren't getting the right price with QQ to setmine if you know the guy has AA or KK.

Your play isn't horrible as no-one likes folding queens but when he reraises you so small pre alarm bells should already be going off big time. At NL25 and NL50 players loooove minraising with AA and KK because they think its good play.

no way I'm ever getting away from this on the flop

pf once he's limp 3 bet then 5 bet us I probs pass to a guy with pfr% of 2. you've only got 60 hands on him but I think that's enough to tell us we're in serious trouble here

Hmm 60 hands but isn't really enough to confirm he's tight enough to only have AA or KK here, so QQ plays a bit better.

I find it hard to fold QQ to 1 opponent too. This might just be one of those spots where it was possible, but by no means definite.
