Hiddink's agent has said that he's not interested in the job and wants to stay as the Russian coach and see them into the world cup. He also said that Abramovich wouldn't want to take away such a good manager from the Russian national side and upset his fellow countrymen - and so that's another reason he won't got to Chelsea.

So expect Hiddink to be the new Chelsea manager come the weekend.

I fear you have justed donated to the bookies - I cannot see Martin O'Neil leaving Villa at the moment, he is too loyal for one thing.

this...and he will probably go to ManU when Fergie leaves...he's not nuts enough to screw that up by going to an unstable club like Chelsea.
but, if the rumours start he could become the bookies favourite over night and you can lay him off then Smiley

Dont make me laugh, you think The great proven manager that is Zola would do a better job than Avram Grant or Scolari ?

fk me, your chairman is probably ringing newcastle to see if they can get Joe Kinnear to take the job LOL

yes i do think he woyld do better than those two you mentioned. it will also please the fans and he will be given much more time than scolari because of that.
its not all about zola it will mean steve clark will return and hes the man that made mourinho tick

This is pretty amusing. Chelsea come from the brink of collaspe to PL and CL challengers by spending squillians on footballers in their peak and about the same on unproven youth. They then stop that cycle by stopping spending and wonder why the team has gone kaput! Simply the best players are older still and the younger ones aren't good enough.

Now you want to sack a manager who has won the world cup (albeit with brazil) and ran well at euros, with someone who has less than 20 games as a proper manager (Zola) or with 1 (Clarke- he might have 2?!). Chelsea fans need a reality check, big time, the board probably more so. Re only issue with the board doing it is that it shows their whole plan as flawed.

I hope Zola gets it and fails.

Oh boy..

Hiddink has already turned the job down 2x so he's not going to take it now (not interested in club footie according to him).

lol@ Zola...yeah kill of the career of another promising young manager. I hope for Zola that he doesn't take itwhen offered. Chelsea is a poisoned chalice now...you either win everything every season or you're out.

i think zola would be allowed to grow with the job as he is a god at the bridge so the fans wouldn't get on his back like they have an outsidder like scolari

Lost 5 games in 36, against Liverpool (x2), Man U, Arsenal & Roma, harsh sacking imo

not too surprised really. if avram grant didnt do enough to keep his job then scolari certainly didnt. chelsea have not been playing well since a nice run at the beginning of the season - they are looking weak at the back which they never did under mourinho or grant, and recently have really struggled to score too. where man u seem to rip through teams (which i hate to see) chelsea have been struggling

exactly they have been playing dire football and the normal solid defence has look shocking, john terrys colnfidence looks shot away

I don't know if Abramovich would give him that time...he seems to have become rather impatient in his quest for success....it's a shame cus I was actually starting to like Chelsea (Well, not Lampard and Terry obv but everybody else....well OK, Not Anelka either but the rest as a team)..If Abramovich isn't careful the team could implode now, I hope he is but I doubt it somehow.

When Chelsea fans ask for Zola as boss, they are asking because he was a good player, not because he is, or will be, a good manager.

Flawed thinking IMO.

although i dont disagree with the situation, it does seem to have come out of the blue. surely scolari must have played a large role in bringing in quaresma?

Get on Louis van gaal - still available at 20-1
A mate of mine lumped on Scolari to be next manager sacked heavily and told me that Van Gaal was already sorted to take over.
Torres cost his them over £60k when he got Adams the sack!
