Nice update, when I went roadtripping round the US we were told to avoid Detroit at all costs. There are lots of cool bars and shit loads of strip joints in downtown Toronto, the ones down King Street are meant to be the best.

Nick knows it pretty well, obviously not the strip joints though....

Pretty com that everyone on this thread was expecting that kind of journey and you thought it was going to be luxury and that you could grind online on the way, lol

Me and my boys in Vegas for the 2007 main event

so me and tommy 'mfckin' C checked out of our hotel at 11am on friday morning and headed to grand lux at the venetian for our final breakfast before our journey across the states. I smashed through a set of buffallo wings and multiple lemonades as i knew i probably wouldnt eat a decent meal for the next 3 days (i wasnt  wrong)! We jumped in a cab and set off for the grey hound station which is located by the golden nugget casino and the golden gate. It was kinda nice to see the absolute slums of vegas and makes u realise that even though you may have lost alot of money over the series "life is still good"!

I get to the front desk to collect our tickets and instantly start to regret my decission on taking the coach. Its about 120 degrees in the station and me and tommy r probably 2 of the 8 white guys in a station full of around 200 people.... its like a scene from a movie, theres woman with tattoos on there face's and people putting there 5 year old kids on the bus on there own sending them 12 hours to another town! After seriously contemplating going to the airport i manage to persuad tommy to get on the coach for our 57 hour coach ride from vegas to toronto via denver, omaha, chicago and detroit.

Now the coach was advertised online as luxury coaches with wireless, reclining chairs and power sockets! it sure had any of those...were one of the last people to get on the bus so theres only 2 seats left right at the back next to the toiilet. The coach is like a prison transportation vehicle and at this moment i am really regreting my choice not to fly! It keeps getting worse as a homeless guy gets on the coach and sits next to us talking to himself and a woman with 2 really noisy kids sits near by. The coach sets off and we dont stop for about 5 hours in a small town on the state border. The coach was so hot that i was sweating, all the gangsters on my bus had taken there shirts off and were sporting there tattooed guns and bullet wound scars...

After the 1st 3 hours of driving the scenary starts getting really good. You hit the mountains north east of vegas and some of the views are spectacular. Driving along narrow roads with a 100ft drop either side of you is pretty cool imo but given the fact that the driver was an absoloute lunatic it proabably shaved a good 10 years off my life. We passed through colorado at night time which really sucks hard because when the sun started to rise we were realised how beautiful the place was! I have never seen anything like it in my life. U just have to go there at some point in ur life....lakes, mountains, amazing landscapes etc etc. We hit denver about 16 hours after we departed and strangely enough i was actually enjoying myself(and so was tommy). It was completely insane to be enjoying this but i was....

After only stopping off at a shop for a sandwich and a gatorade about 8 hours in i thaught denver would be a place to eat and freshen up! i was wrong...10 minutes later were back on the bus and heading for a place called omaha. That drive was pretty boring as its just flat land with grass and corn fields the whole way. The only thing that kept me going through  that part was meeting a guy named .....ready for it........WILLIAM FCKIN SHAKESPEARE. couldnt believe it but he showed me his passport and the fcker wasnt lieing! he was probably the most interesting guy ive ever met in my life.  A native american trainedd MMA figher/school teacher who has created his own language and written a life biography in code. The guy had made his own llanguage and showed me how he has different characters for letters like chinese hyrogliphics. He planned to put the code in his will when he dies so his future children can desypher it and find out some of the crazy antics he used to get up 2 (doing acid in cornfields at the age of 12 was pretty com)! pretty cool imo....not much happened after that til we hit omaha about 24 hours into our journey and changed buses.

In omaha we had a pretty comical driver who chucked a guy off the bus for being "high on life"...one of those 'u have to be there moments'....we had to make an unscheduled stop so a guy who had just got out of prison could go to the hospital. His leg had swolen right up to about 3 times the size and he was loving showing me just as i was tucking into my apple juice and burrito. The rest of the drive was pretty standard with the occasional pleasantly suprising view. I managed to sleep about 5 hours which really done wonders for me! as we rolled into chicago we picked up another cheeseburger and got on the next bus headed for detroit... this drive was quite nice. It was like driving through england in many spots with lakes and nice greenary + the occasional rediculous road sign.

When in chicago had time to stop off for my 3rd cheeseburger of the trip then we were back on the road headed for Detroit. After becoming besties with all the gangsters on this bus i felt kinda sad to leave them in detroit...i think they like white guys in detroit coz the whole D12 /eminem thing...saying that when we arrived at the station there was no way in hell i was walking 3 blocks to the burger king. It was probably the most ghetto area ive ever been in! so i headed to the vending machine and picked up a turkey and cheese sandwich and another apple juice! I dunno what it is but i seem to attract the attention of random crazies that have just been let out of prison. This guy who had just been released after serving 35 years started chatting with us for a while! comedy...

so at this point we are 48 hours into our trip and we have one more stint to go....detroit to toronto. For me this was the 2nd best drive. Once crossing the border u instantly become aware that canada is a much more beautiful place than america. The people on this bus were more friendly and the bus was actually much cleaner and more comfortable (still now wirless etc)! Some guy ploughed through a crate of beer sat next to us which was pretty comical listening to him cover up the fact that he wasnt drinking even though his beer bottles were clinking away in his bag for the whole trip. alot of this drive was in the dark so didnt get to see much of it but when we arrived in toronto me and tommy agreed that we actually had a load of fun on this trip! We saw one of the gangsta wireless buses in the station which kinda pissed me off but i kinda enjoyed  the old skool solitary way! We have decided to never go by coach again but i definetly enjoyed myself and i wouldnt change it if i had the chance to go back...we are gna drive back in a rent-a-car as there were so many places we wanted to stop off in and have a look around. + we can get some cool pics on route. might take a different route when we head back but defo gna go via collorado!

Managed to get a place sorted in canada so we got a grinding station for the next month. The city is on strike atm and there not collecting peoples rubbish which suck hard but im kinda used to it after being sat on that bus! anyway off to get a few beers in me as im in dier need! il be grinding as of tommorow night i think. so gl all and looking forward to getting back on it...

[ ]well
[ ] cashed in a tourne live
[ ] won online

still played well imo and through discussing hands with tommy i feel asif i didnt make any mistakes. When i go back in november i will do things differently and i will go there with a strict plan to win the world! I really enjoyed the experience with the whole shrewdies and i really enjoyed it when it was just me and tommy. It was completely differet but still v good. Now that ive been to vegas and done the touristy stuff i can go there in nov better prepared this time around.
