Gurpreet Nagi raised to 27k from midposition and Steve Holden moved all-in for 81k more from the small blind. (While Darren Shallis does his best LeKnave impression in the background)

Asking for a count, Nagi was told it was 81k more back to him.

"Ok, I call," he said. Turning over . Holden flipped

A straight for Nagi and he's looking like a contender, while Steve Holden gets one of those frustrating cashes that are close but not close enough.

Well, I think we're going to get to the final by about 11pm and having a deal during the final table. That way 5 or 6 players can guarantee themselves £10k each.

Meanwhile back in Pokerland, Steve Jelinek made it 30k from the cutoff, only for Colin Young to reraise to an intriguing 105k, leaving himself just 80k behind. Jelinek made a face, and eventually folded, showing pocket sixes.

Alistair Cairns moved all in utg (apparently his favourite move), and Peter Renkel, shorter-stacked still than Cairns, called all in from the small blind - I believe for a total of 57k.

Cairns:
Renkel:

Board: three diamonds

Double up for Renkel, woe and perhaps 90k remaining to Cairns.

Monstrous Pot

Jesper Persson raised to 29k from the cutoff, and Lawrence Gosney called in the small blind. Our short-stacked Alistair Cairns, unable at this time to shove utg, shoved from the big blind instead for a total of 91.5k, and sat there clapping for a bit. Persson asked how much Gosney had left, and was met with the answer, "All you can see," = 95k or so. After a brief dwell, he passed.

Back to Gosney, and some more dwelling. And eventually, a call.

Cairns:
Gosney:

Board: Two Diamonds

Meaning that Gosney had a flush at the end of that, and Cairns had a ticket out of the tournament in 14th place.

Steve Jelinek calls a raise in the big blind from Matthew Tandy who button raises.

Jelinek checks, Tandy moves all-in. Jelinek calls, mainly because he flopped the nuts with . Tandy has err... and can't quite manage a runner-runner house.

12 left.

TOTALLY UNEXPECTED SCANDIE EXIT

Jesper Persson raised to 30k utg and it folded around to Hassan Irfan on the big blind. He reraised, to perhaps 100k. Persson made it All In, and Irfan called in about a millisecond.

Persson:
Irfan:

Board: two hearts Two Diamonds

Irfan is now the proud owner of precisely one s***load of chips, while Persson is down to, umm, 1k. Which is all in on his ante/big blind the next hand. Lawrence Gosney and small blind assassin Irfan limp in and check down the board; Persson mucks and goes home and Gosney shows a queen to win it.

11 left; making it home to a cup of cocoa and bed by 3am is looking like a real possibility. Sniff.

11 left and quite a few short stacks holding on.

One of these, Peter Renkel just annoyed me with one of my own personal pet hates while Persson was still in. Dipak Makawana raised preflop and Persson was still deciding what to do when Renkel (next to act) just got up and left the table to go to the toilet/for a smoke. It really bugs me when people do this as it gives an unfair advantage. He got a warning afterwards, but I'd like to see things like this be treated as harshly as other action out of turn.

Mr Rab Bain, my heretofore largely unmentioned Name Of The Day That Isn't John Dick, stuck in his sad little 55k stack with and got himself called by Hassan Irfan holding .

Board: two hearts Two Diamonds

(Mc)Bain will not be back, and we are hand for hand while we wait for the final table bubble to burst.
